That's only to be expected. Let's say for sake of argument there's a 100,000 employed in the oil fields and offices connected to the oil fields. How many mechanics are there that work on oil field equipment? How many companies are they that make deliveries to the oil fields? The list goes on and on. There's like a couple of hundred thousand more supporting the hundred thousand.

Notice things started to buckle after sanctions were applied on Russia. Their downturn was expected yet none of the blowback on the EU 'was expected' according to 'officials'. It mirrors the slowdown in Russia so when it hits us it should be fully expected. The 1930's were a decade long depression introduced and supported by the banks. That should have also seen a redistribution of what wealth they released and as in England the shares that were sold were bought up by the banks (and bid biz) for pennies on the dollar. All totally expected by just one entity. It gets even better, they made a full confession on what they did cause in America over the last 140 years. Want to know where to find it?

Perhaps the building boom in Calgary will have to do with refugees/unemployed residents more than any recovery in prices of oil. Cheaper oil should inspire booms rather than eliminating them. (next to zero profit is the reason there are downturns)
