Remission? You'd think that it being 2014 that'd be enough time to be innoculated against such stupid ideas as the KKK.

Blacks and Whites are simply human beings. Human beings are, inter alia, creatures of fear. How did Obama get African Americans to turn out in record percentage numbers for the election in 2012? He stoked the fires of fear of the Other. In doing so he sowed the seeds of tribalism in the body politic and turned the tide of white guilt. The rebirth of white racism is one of Obama's legacies.

I'll never forget Attorney General Eric Holder testifying before Congress and identifying African Americans as "his people" instead of talking about all Americans as his people. Generations will have to pass before the possibility of racial peace returns to status quo ante.

So you are blaming a black guy for a resurgence of the KKK. Funny. If he did stuff to piss off these kkk members, good. More people should do that. F*ck them.

Do you remember Obama telling Latinos to "punish their enemies?" Do you remember Eric Holder identifying African Americans as "his people?"

Dates dont mean a thing when it comes to this sort of thing unfortunately.

Social progress and moral progress are transitory notions limited to particular eras in history.

what does racial peace returning to status quo mean because when you say "returning to" it gave me hives...it sounds like going back to the way things were which is fine if you are old white and priviledged, otherwise it sounds like more inequality

how is your country going to move forward as a whole toward equality and tolerance if things move backward?

For the former - no. The latter, yes. And given he was black I see no problem with him saying that. His job performance sure said otherwise though.

Indeed, made me think of segregation. Things are a hell of a lot better now than they were then even with the tensions and violence in the mix.

Odd I must have missed those ads.

We HAVE to be getting smarter. Otherwise...well it's just too terrifying to contemplate.

Human nature never really changed unfortunately.

unfortunately, prejudice and hate have little to do with intelligence although intelligence is a component in the ability to understand difference and accept it merely as an alternative rather than a threat, but most prejudice involves fear and fear is a hard reaction to combat.

It's not such a stupid idea, it was cultivated for a sound reason and continues to exist for that reason, that's why we see them prominently paraded today, race war, civil war, societal unrest and thee final looting and hollowing of a used to be country. You'll note the influx of illeagles into the melting pot. pretty crazy, but that's how it's unfolding

The member there, one Randy Lahey is presenting it as being in Ferguson.

That the one you mean?

There have been different eras in Black/White relations during the existence of the USA. There was the era of slavery, the era of emancipation, the era of Jim Crow, the era of the civil rights movement, a quiescent post-civil rights era, and a new zero sum era of hostility. My reference to returning to the status quo ante meant going back to the post civil rights era. Obama has transformed consciousness by clarifying the zero sum nature of society, and the fact that America operates on a tribal basis.

how is your country going to move forward as a whole toward equality and tolerance if things move backward?

What do you mean when you use the term "equality?" There are at least three different definitions of equality that come readily to mind.

=WLDB;2015635]For the former - no.

Google is your friend.

The latter, yes. And given he was black I see no problem with him saying that. His job performance sure said otherwise though.

Obama's racial background doesn't entitle him to say or do anything which divides Americans into separate and mutually hostile groups if he truly wanted to be president of all Americans.

Indeed, made me think of segregation. Things are a hell of a lot better now than they were then even with the tensions and violence in the mix.

There are tensions and violence in the Obama era. I point to Ferguson, Missouri as Exhibit A.

Odd I must have missed those ads.

If they'd changed their motto's and are now including the groups they'd railed against then they should have simply become another group. I think they're liars liars liars and their pants are on fire

It's like if Jeffrey Dalhmer became a vegetarian and started a group. Would you believe he'd changed? Really?
