REGINA — The fact Kimberly Cruickshank’s two dogs Willy and Johnny were found alone at home without water or food is what really concerns her sister, Kristen Cruickshank.
“They were her babies,” Kristen says.
“It’s just not like her. They’d either have a babysitter or they’d be by her side.”
The two Pomeranian-yorkies were found in Kimberly’s apartment when police forced entry last Sunday, the day after the 27-year-old was reported missing.
Kimberly — Kim, to her friends and family — has not been seen or heard from since last Saturday.
Kristen says her sister had fallen in with a “bad crowd” over the past couple of years, but had been trying hard to turn her life around.
“She’s been doing really well over the past three months and we’d become really close,” Kristen says.
“She’s very outgoing, very strong, with a heart of gold.”
The sisters had been talking each day on the phone or Skype, which is why Kristen became so concerned when her sister’s phone suddenly stopped ringing.
“I’m trying to stay strong, stay as positive as I can,” Kristen says.
“But it’s not easy. The longer this goes on, the harder it gets.”
Kristen says she and her mom have been trying “everything they can” to find out more information, staying constantly in touch with family and friends.
They have also put up notices on UsedRegina and Kijiji, and are travelling to the Queen City this weekend to continue their search “be around as soon as (they) hear anything.”
Regina police describe Kim as Caucasian, 5-foot-1 and about 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
