I strongly support the concept of a living wage however minimum wage laws are counter intuitive to creating low wage positions and actually eliminate them.

For example, I was recently looking at a fully automated burger joint being developed in California. This thing does all the prep, all the cooking, all the cleaning and handles the cash with no humans. AI and robotics are the wave of the future and will eliminate 47% of employment positions over the next generation. Minimum wage laws will accelerate the push to automate those jobs.
