I am an immigrant myself, but I am sick and tired of the political correctness that inflicts this once great country.
Jean obviously has the credentials or she would not have been appointed by the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, to the post of Governor General.
Check out her credentials. I think she does just fine.
Now back to the real issue. Haiti is suffering tonight. The people are suffering more than usual. There are dead amoung the ruins. There's an estimated 50,000 people dead and the number is expected to rise. There are cries of help coming from piles of rubble. This is far from being about Michaelle Jean. This is about a monumental, humanitarial effort to bring food, clothing and water to a desperate part of the world. Countries like the U.S.A., China and Spain stepped forward immediately without any hesitation. And Canada has come out with a tremendous offer of help. Our donations, along with the federal government pledge, could amount to $100,000 million dollars. Our navy ships are enroute to the area with blankets, food, medical supplies, water purification equipment and who knows what else. I couldn't be prouder of my country tonight and I wish the country of Haiti a quick and speedy recovery from this diseaster.
Let the pheonix rise out of the ashes.
