For the second time in a year, scientists have proven that males are cleverer than females.

Girls do better than boys at school, but scientists say the reason for that is because girls mature faster.

ARE MEN REALLY CLEVERER THAN WOMEN?

By Victoria Ward

A bit dim

MEN are more intelligent than women, new research claims.

Two leading scientists - both men - say male IQs are 3.63 points higher than females.

Psychologist John Philippe Rushton said this explains the "glass ceiling" phenomenon why men get promoted over women.

He said the study proves more men reach the top of their careers because they are smarter - and not because of sex discrimination.

Prof Rushton's team analysed 100,000 aptitude tests taken by 17 and 18-year-olds of both sexes.

And he said men were more intelligent "throughout the entire distribution of scores, in every level of family income, for every level of fathers and mothers' education, and for each and every one of seven ethnic groups".

He also claimed that girls only did better than boys at school because they "mature faster".

The professor said the results backed a similar study last year by Richard Lynn at the University of Ulster.

The research analysed answers to 145 sections of the US Scholastic Assessment Test. The test, samples of which are printed here, focus on reading, writing and maths.

It is published in this month's issue of academic journal Intelligence.

Truth or political correctness. It's one or the other. It's pretty obvious that men are big and strong and women are not. Yet we go out of our way to lower the standards, so women can become firefighters, police officers, etc. Not to mention the military. We spend a lot of money and give up a good deal of combat readiness just to accomodate women.
Women want to take men's jobs, but they will never become "one of the boys", which results in lawsuits and general uneasiness in the workplace and on the battlefield.

I take it that the study was controversial only due to the outcome - if had been the other way about would that have been controversial, probably not. Personally I do not think that this matters one bit as men and woman are different and we as a society should be happy about that and not look for the reasons to find likness. Personally I feel that this government is wrong in having a Minister for Women without having one for Men, is that not sexism! And when you stop and think this is from a PC government!

- Doug, Peterhead Scotland
----------------------------------------------------

Damned right. Political correctness gone mad if you ask me - we go pandering to liberals who claim females are of greater intelligence. But we must look at the facts - males have higher IQs. It's science. We must obey the laws of creationism.

And we are better drivers.

It's all relative - I happen to be a complete moron. My wife is an absolute imbecile. And my mistress is just an out and out idiot.

- Matthew Bright, Mexico City, Mexico

Stanley, actually I agree with you. However, your points have NOTHING to do with intelligence, only physical ability.

- Sandi, Edinburgh

Men are more intelligent than women, that's common knowledge. Why did it take a survey of 100,000 men a women to work that one out?

Well, we all know that SATs are the ultimate measure of performance in life and in the workplace right? LOL!

A guy is walking down the street one day and he happens to meet God. He runs up and pleads "Please God, I need to know, please answer some questions for me".

God sighs, and agrees.

"First, why did you make women SO beautiful, so curved, so graceful, such a feast for the eyes?"

"That's easy", answers God, "That is so men would love them"

"Please God, another question. Why did you make women smell SO good, so intoxicating?"

"That's easy", answers God, "That is so men would love them"

"Please God, one last question. Why did you make women SOOOO STUPID!?"

"That's easy", answers God, "That is so they could love MEN"

It's not that men are more intelligent, because they are better adjusted to the world.

3.63 IQ points? Wow. I strongly doubt that's very significant. Could you tell the difference in intelligence talking to two people, one with an IQ of 110, the other at 113.63? Not likely. Typical of journalists to pick one number like that though: it's politically incorrect and thus newsworthy, and conveys almost no information. A much more interesting thing would be how intelligence is distributed; are there significantly more males with higher IQ scores, and significantly more females with lower ones? If, for instance, 17% of males score better than 125 and only 12% of females do, that might be an important bit of information. An average difference of 3.63 points doesn't mean very much; take a battery of IQ tests and your individual scores will vary by at least that much.

Yes women are rewry rewry intelligent.... and yes the report is rewry rewry skewed!

In fact the same people will have variant scores verbal and non-verbal on the same day when retesting a different set of tests at different times of the day.

Bingo! Outta here.

Colpy you are still in trouble...big trouble. Rewry big trouble!

Dear Son,

I'm writing this slow cause I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left. Your dad read in the paper where most accidents happen within twenty miles of home so we moved. This place has a washing machine. The first day I put four shirts in it, I pulled the chain and haven't seen them since. It only rained twice this week. Three days the first time and four days the second time. The coat you wanted me to send you. Your Aunt Sue said it would be a little to heavy to send in the mail with them big heavy buttons, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got a bill from the funeral home, said if we didn't make the last payment, up she comes. Your uncle John fell in the whiskey vat. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off playfully so he drowned. We cremated him, he burned for three days. Three of your friends went off the bridge in a pickup one was driving, the other two were in the back. The driver got out, he rolled down the window and swam to safety. The other two drowned, they couldn't get the tailgate down. Not much more news this time. Nothing much has happened. Write more later.

Love,

Mom

Need I guess your gender? :D :D :D

Seriously though, less than 4 points is just insignificant..............

As well, I think I can explain a flaw in the researchers' methods.

There is a far greater occurance of deviance in the male than the female. In other words, more males are born "outside the curve", either extremely intelligent (genius level) or "intellectually challenged", with an extremely low IQ.

I would suggest that the very, very bright males were all included in the test groups, while the extremely challenged males were NOT included...........thus skewing the average.

Now, we'll discuss the fact there are many MORE really bright males than females.....

WC? Is that Haggis I see coming?!!!

I'm OUTTA here!

Let's do a retest, with aptitude tests designed by women.
Multitasking for example, is where women really shine.
