Those who use marijuana for medicinal purposes in Canada may want to reach for the aspirin when they learn about a pending price increase.

Proposed regulations posted by Health Canada say the price of medical marijuana should rise to $8.80 cents a gram —currently it ranges from $1.80 to $5 a gram.

The proposals say medical marijuana should be treated more like any other medicine.

Essentially, the new system will create licensed grow-ops that people could shop at, provided they have a prescription from their doctor.

Currently, those who wish to use medical marijuana must apply for a permit from the government in order to either grow it themselves or buy it from a single government grower.

Some of the proposed changes include:
  • Including marijuana extracts and "edibles" as a legal source.
  • Allowing store-front, community-based dispensaries that would be licensed by the government.
  • Providing identification cards indicating an individual is allowed to have the marijuana.

The government is inviting public comment on the new system for the next 75 days.

Guvmint been smokin too much of that other stuff. Guvmint doesn't grow it, maintain it, etc. All it does is issue paperwork.
They have a contract grower. Prairie Plant out of Saskatoon.

What the Guvmint is good at producing is b u l l s h i t.

Health Canada charges $5.35 a gram including GST. Something stinks and it ain't the ganja.

I think it's time to set up a greenhouse on the farm.
I've heard of beef farmers in Alberia building grow rooms under their silos. Sounded like a pretty good cover to me. I still think outdoor is the best, it is just not the strongest, which is alright by me cuz I think indoor is akin to a 12 gauge frontal lobotomy. Most indoor is grown with chemical fertilizer too.

Greenhouse is the best of both worlds. I'm thinking just putting a glass or lexan roof on the barn and use the loft. Spray foam the lower/end walls and the floor from below and it would be sealed and cheap to heat in winter.

Fertilizer is just salts. It can be had in numerous configurations.

If it's too strong, roll smaller joints ;)
