Nearly 75% of Canadians surveyed believe Prime Minister Mark Carney should go forward with country-wide infrastructure improvements, before seeking another federal mandate.

In a new Canada Pulse Insights poll, the 1, 531 adults surveyed found that 73% want Carney to fast-track major projects, relax certain environmental reviews, alter labour strikes and deepen meaningful economic ties with Europe.

The federal government has already referred many nation-building initiatives to the new Major Projects Office (MPO). This includes a new oil pipeline to the west coast.

Six of the major infrastructure projects under consideration by the MPO are in B.C. Four of them are in Ontario, including the Darlington New Nuclear Project in Bowmanville.

Support for the proposed changes seems strong across the board with 83% cent in British Columbia, 77% in Quebec, 73% in Atlantic Canada, 71% in Ontario, 67% in Saskatchewan/Manitoba and 65% in Alberta

More than 25% feel that the changes proposed are big enough to warrant another federal election. Among Conservative voters, 53% want Carney to call an election while 47% believe Carney should continue moving forward.

According the report, if that election were held today, the poll finds the Liberals with 46% support nationally, compared to 34% for the Conservatives.

The New Democratic Party has 9% support nationally; the Bloc Quebecois is at 6% and the Green Party at 3%. One in 10 eligible voters are undecided at this point.

One interesting note from the poll was a switching of allegiances by members of the voting public as 15% of those who voted Conservative in the last election now say they would vote for the Liberals. Meanwhile, 2% of Liberal voters say they would switch allegiances to the Conservatives.

The survey was conducted among 1,531 Canadian adults using an online panel from October 1-8, and has a margin of error of +/- 2.5 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Note the survey was done inside liberal party headquarters.

Shit, all I want him to do is call an election so we can get him the fuck out of there.
You know that that won't happen. He will get a bigger majority and then we will be screwed. Right now the fact he is so close to minority is the only thing keeping him honest. Also PP is never going to get enough support to be PM. Once he is replaced, then it will be time for an election.

Sad but true. I was very curious to see what Poilievre could do if given a kick at the can.
