youd think that theyd get with the programme, eh! i mean, theyve been busting people for like a million years so youd think the government would at least know good from bad weed.

That's correct, the reason cannibis remains off the legal list is the huge lobby of legal drug pushers who have paid politicians to keep it illegal, those big pharma people will loose billions if cannibis is marketed legally. If they can't make money millions will continue to suffer needlessly.

Darkbeaver, it is very obliging of you, indeed, to offer your help in such serious and time-consuming research. I sure appreciate it! Two such devoted researches as us sure can make a major scientific break-through!

We're just doing our bit for the free world, the sacrifice of time and labour is ultimately worth it if it leads to a breakthrough.

I suffer with the lovely collection of problems the docs label 'fibromyalgia', and as a result of it I have developed osteo arthritis in my hips and lower four vertebra. I tried almost everything the docs were willing to give me for pain, and just ended up on more meds to fix the problems the meds caused ( antinflammatories gave me ulcers for example). At one point, my husband would have to set out a bowl full of varied snacks for my kids (toddlers at the time) to munch on while he was at work, because I was too tired and in too much pain to get out of bed half of the time.

my docs hit the point that they were willing to license me for marijuana possession, but, the legal hassle in getting licensed just wasn't worth it. Some friends who grow gave me a bit, and what it did for my pain was astonishing. I reserached it a bit, and found out that marijuana by nature is 'sticky'. Wonderfully enough, where it sticks, is your pain centers. it essentially gets in there and clogs up the synapses, preventing the chronic nerve firing that is associated with fibro (and other nerve issues as the article describes). Lovely stuff. proof of a divine design to the universe if I've ever seen it. lol. It's just too bad that I'm a hyper paranoid person to begin with, and I couldn't stand how much worse it made it. lol.

The paranoia bothers some people, it did me as well, that side effect I found to be a quality of the mix of sativa and indica strains. There are strains that offer the relief without that side effect. In addition to that I found that one or two tokes offered me the same relief as a whole joint without any side effects, in other words I dont have to get stoned to get the desired pain relief. There are so many strains out there it's very hard to get what you need without growing your own which is a hassel for most people.
I used to ingest before bedtime, then you can hide under the covers in the dark till the paranoia passes. Someone in the thread mentioned that cannibis will not make you happy if you have underlying psycological problems and that's something to keep in mind, it tends to focus the mind and of you're having mental problems it may exacerbate those, whatevers in your mind will be hieghtened and brought to the forefront. So much work has to be done to determine the chemical composition of cannibis and what does which. In the end cannibis will prevail as one of the most medically beneficial plants on the planet. Those who've kept it from the public have much to answer for, they are guilty of crimes against humanity.

My nephew goes once a week for accupuncture and there are some new radiant heat treatments they got him started on at Walter Reed when he was first sent there. He has been cared for very well despite all the horror stories we read about in the treatment of returning veterans....and his team are always trying out new things but as his spine deteriorates he will be in more pain and they wanted to see if he gets some relief from the marijuana.... hopefully more longer lasting than some of the other medications he is now on...

All are addictive no doubt so at this point, he is beyond addiction... they tell me you become addicted with pleasure received, not for pain relief.... but I don't know much about it.

Chronic pain (as you know) can make the sunniest personality have the darkest days...

I have friends who take it for chronic pain issues, and they find the same thing as you about not needing much for pain relief, so they smoke pipes instead of joints, and take a few puffs every other hour throughout the day. It keeps the pain down, without getting them really high.

Because I wasn't using the stuff I had, I started giving it out to friends who wanted any. The first woman used to deal in Toronto. She took about two hits off a joint, grinned like an idiot, and fell over backwards, down for the count, in the sawdust of my hubby's workshop. Her hubby managed to wake her up about ten minutes later, and all she had to say is "WOW". The second friend I gave the remainder to. She's the one who uses it for pain on a day to day basis. She went outside, and when she came back in, she said that if I ever want to try pot again, I need to get some seriously lower quality stuff. She couldn't stop giggling. Chances are very good that you're right, it was probably the strain that was the issue. I am a plant enthusiast, so perhaps I'll see if I can get some seeds from some of the growers I know. Perhaps they'd have a strain that wouldn't be as rough on me. But then, we're moving soon to the same city as all of my hubby's police officer cousins. Hmmm, it might be a bad idea. lol.

I don't know if it's true here, but in england it is legal to buy and sell the seeds, as long as you dont grow them. you can order them online

What I did find about the marijuana is that for quieting the nerve pain, it was much more long lasting than aything else. And frankly, when you live in pain, addiction is a necessary part of life. It makes me laugh some of the doctors' attitudes toward chronic pain sufferers. One friend has lost four discs in his back. He can not function without pain killers. But his doctors won't give him pain killers because he can't function without painkillers, thus he's addicted. Makes a ton of sense right?

It is probably one of the biggest tests on a person, to live in constant pain. It's exhausting.

I don't know how the law works regarding that here. I wouldn't trust on-line ordering for soemthing like that anyway. I can just picture one giant bin of seeds, with 300 'strains' available on-line... someone simply dipping into the big bin and labeling it according to whatever strain you picked. lol.

well i bought mushroom strains from there, and they're definately what they say on the tin. Once again I should say that was perfectly legal up until the point at which the spores germinated, which i didnt do, because i'm a law-abiding citizen coughcough

If you're going to get some seeds try to get something that's more sativa than indica, I find the sativas a lot less paranoia produceing, but anything I say is annecdotal, the sativas mostly cause the gigglys and the munchies. Most of the common strains are blends anyway. Most of the police I know won't bother with a grower who dosen't sell and If you only have a few plants you're really not worth the paperwork on a bust.

I think Heroin still schedual 1, there was and is still a move to legalize heroin for medicinal but I haven't loked into it for a while. Heroine is supposed to be far better at pain control than morphine.

The Pot Farmer

:evil3: THE POT FARMER :evil3:

I got out my pipe and stuffed it with pot,
You better believe, it held a whole lot.
I whipped out a lighter and thumbed up a flame,
Then sucked down that smoke which comforts my brain.

I tried alcohol; and smoked cigarettes,
Though, they did nothing, but give me regrets.
My mom had arthritis and couldn't walk around.
When I rolled her a joint, she danced on the ground.

I thought I was losing my lovemaking knack,
But, after I smoked some, to me it came back.
Soon I decided prices were too high,
So I searched for some ground I wouldn't have to buy.

I bargained for seeds from smokers all around,
Then, got in my truck and drove out of town.
I walked through the woods where the wild birds nest,
And found me the meadow I thought was the best.

I dug up the ground and sowed all my seeds;
Then said a small prayer for strong, healthy weeds.
I watered at night with a five-gallon pail;
The mosquitoes went hungry for I wore a veil.

Eight months went by; I thought I would die,
'Till the Halloween moon was high in the sky.
One night I went out, in my camouflage suit,
And used a corn knife to chop down the loot.

I hung it up to dry where it couldn't be found.
Then came back and got it, when it had turned brown.
I trimmed off the buds, and stuffed them in bags,
Called all my friends and passed out free drags.

In less then a week, my crop was gone!
But, I flew to St. Thomas with love-hungry blond.
