I don't want heroic measures or time on life support - but I'm a donor too and they have to keep organs viable. Be that as it may, outside of CPP rejections, how does an RN supersede an MD in medical decisions?

I do, but with my luck I'd probably get Deadpool.

They asked me to be an organ donor, I said "Heck, no! But I got a piano I can let go cheap."

I'm here all week.

Well, taxslave thinks that if it saves the government's money, a janitor should be able to supersede a specialist.

I may have told this story before BUT when I was in High School I worked at the local hospital pushing people around to different departments. Was called a Porter.

One day I'm walking past a room and this very elderly (70-80's) lady comes out to tell me her husband was in distress. I go in to look (not that there was anything I could have done) and he was trying to breathe and even I could tell he was in trouble.

I got the nurses and it just happened that his Doctor was on the floor.

I waited outside of the room as the Doctor and nurses walked back out rather quickly after entering

I guess I had a look of 'aren't you going to do anything for him' on my face as the Doctor took me aside and said there's nothing that can be done, it's his time to go.

I never knew what was wrong with him and I was ticked that there was no CPR or anything tried on him but who knows, maybe he had something that he would never recover from and would only last another day or so.......
