And I bet they never pulled his license.

scary to think that someone can just forget something they're in the midst of. Mind you, if home was walking distance, it makes a certain amount of sense if this is a station he walked to often for cigs or chips or something. It's amazing how muscle memory can override everything else sometimes. If you're used to walking out the gas station door, and turning for home, then that's what you're doing. hmm.

GeeZ if this is "news" then I should be making headlines daily. I forget stuff all the time--doc says it's because of my fibromyalgia. Although admittedly Ive never forgotten my car. Forgot where it was parked many a time though.

I forget basic words. I sound like a babbling moron when it happens.

And I wake up in the middle of the night every so often, not knowing who I am, let alone where i am or who's in bed next to me.

I think that if you fill up with gas and then forget your car, you shouldn't drive any more...

I once forgot my dog at the mall....I've never felt so bad. I'd gone in, bought some groceries and then got into a cab and went home. The drive back to the mall has never been so long...all I could think about was that he was waiting for me and he was alone...The guilt still hurts and this was like 10 yrs ago!

my mom drove the half hour home once, got out of the vehicle, screamed, got back in and drove back to town to get my brother.

So, I'm sure forgetting your dog isn't the worst thing in the world.

lol.

I carried my 7th out of the hospital in his car seat...walked to the trunk of the car and started fishing for my keys...my wife looked at me and asked "where are you going to put him?"

That's scary. I'm so forgetful I'm surprised I never left my daughter somewhere. I once drove to work and took the bus home. I wasn't used to taking the car. Ticked me off when I had to bus it back.

LOL. I can only imagine. I'm the type of person who will put the phone in the fridge and then go try to set the creamer on the phone base. Usually after about ten seconds of trying to make the damn cream fit in the base I catch on... usually.

When I drive to the corner store for some small item I usually carry my car keys in my hand. When I get home I always put my keys on a little shelf in the kitchen. I'm not saying I couldn't do this, but somewhere along the line I would notice my keys in my hand and sheepishly go back and get the car...

Unless you were the type who pockets them (or like me clips them to a belt loop) because you carry them all the time for the house anyway.

I'm bad for not emptying my pockets. Sometimes I'll lose a whole set of keys in a pocket.

I could do this.

Once I pulled into an Irving, filled the tank, went in, took $100 out of the ATM, picked up a newspaper and stood in line to pay, reading the front page. I got to the counter, the clerk said "one dollar, please", I reached in my pocket, handed him a loonie, and walked out. Outside, my son, who was not with me but had seen the car there, greeted me and I offered him a ride to his house, we got in and drove away.....

FIVE HOURS LATER, I wondered how much money I had, and looked in my wallet to find $100 and thought "How can that be? I bought.....OH MY GOD!" Unfortunately, I was in Fredericton, 100 kms away, at the time, so I called my wife, who got me the number, and I called the station.....went in the next day and paid.

The manager told me he knew I couldn't be a drive away, because the police were fueling up next to me, and I crawled out of the station as they watched....

Stupid!
