Because you say so? I don't share that opinion. My personal view is that every single right has be fought for, tooth and nail.
So many of the people upset about this are not actually focusing on the specific issue at hand. They are going on about government infringement in general, not the merits of this particular issue.
It's a proposed infringement of an existing constitutional right. From my point of view, the fact that it is an incremental infringement is not relevant.
As for this specific case, if drunk driving were a growing problem that resisted solutions through lawful means, then perhaps I could be swayed. As it is, drinking and driving rates have steadily decreased for teh last two decades. An escalation of consitutional infringements is not called for, in my opinion.
