Mainstream press of just about any media form is skewed. Hardly fair and balanced.

That's the truth. I can't help but laugh whenever some network or their viewers claims to have the patent for a balanced view. It's kinda like crappy drivers. The vast majority of drivers would call themselves above average drivers, as if there is even some measure for what the average is.

The thing with news is, most times they all have an element of truth in it. Then it gets spun by editors or the reporter. So what you end up with someones opinion on what the "real" story is. Also mainstream media is owned by a couple moguls and even if they don't have a direct input in the news cast they at least have control over who they hire at the top, and it kinda filters down from there.

Dexter the problem is, the left-wing liberals, have power and are a large group.

The right-wind extreme conservatives, are a small group, and they hold little power.

So the people in power need to be kept more accountable then a small group with little power.

For the record, O'Reilly has disagreed and torn apart Ann Coulter, and the Westboro Church fiasco.

Bill O'Reilly is my most respected media personality in the business.

And Republicans are known to be conservative.

But we are talking about right-wing extremists.

Get over yourself, and just go watch the moral fabric of Canada decay because of Liberals like you wanting a secular nation.

Look at Holland to see what happens when a nation loses all morals and turns into a secular liberal strong hold.

Uhuh. The Netherlands are behind the States in total crime, behind in child poverty, not as large a gap between richest 20% and poorest 20%, etc. according to nationmaster stats.

Don't forget longer living and better access to health care.

Anyways, what's wrong with being secular?

Seriously, theres plenty of examples of secular nations out there. The Netherlands would be probably the worst choice for you to bring up West.

In nations where human rights are supposed to be so important, secularism is the only way to go, unless you want to live in a nation where one group has all the control and power. If so I suggest moving to a Middle Eastern country, though your views probably won't be welcomed.

I have this feeling west is referring to the sex trade there and the availability of drugs like pot.

I've went there a long time ago with a few cousins of mine from England.

We had a good time.:) :pukeright: :laughing7:

Probably. Better I say to happen in a well lit building, a legal setting, instead of out on the streets and in dark alleys.

Yes, I could see where someone would mistake "our" with "the vice president of the USA"....it's a common error.:laughing7:

Avro there is something sinister to the slip he made I have seen slips like it here in CC, if he's watched
yankee TV since he was young he may not be able to differentiate between the two countrys. There was a poll a long long time ago which found that many more Canadians knew of JFKs life than Trudeau,s. An example of the extent of cultural damage.

Your facts are wrong and your logic escapes me. Left wing liberals have *never* held power in the United States, in government or the media. What's viewed as left wing in the United States would be perceived as firmly centrist in the rest of the world. Right wing extreme conservatives have been running the United States for the last 6 years, they ran it for the 8 years of the Reagan administration, and the 4 years of the Bush Sr. administration. And the size of a group has nothing to do with the degree of accountability required. Every group is accountable to precisely the same degree for things done in its name. It's called the rule of law.

For the record, O'Reilly has disagreed and torn apart Ann Coulter, and the Westboro Church fiasco
That's not a justification for anything. The man's still a meretricious, cranky, ill-informed demagogue.

Ah, that's why Netherlands is #20 with 47/100,000 people in drug offenses, and the States is only #4 with 560/100,000 people. Canada is #9 with 286/100,000 people. Anyway, according to nationmaster the netherlands has less than a tenth the drug problems per capita than the States. Seems to me that the prostitution in the Netherlands stems from foreign "workers" not the Dutch themselves. http://www.uri.edu/artsci/wms/hughes/netherl.htm

Dexter Sinister, I am in a place in my life where I do not need negative feelings thrown at me.

Your logic escapes me, and is not worth my time, nor my energy discussing it with you.

Good day.
