Liberals vote against motion for Canada to export more gas to Europe

So would achieving these exports be possible with our current level of of gas-exporting infrastructure ? Or will it take a tanker load of money and years to accomplish ? From what I've read, large scale LNG exports are still some years in the future, and our current pipeline system is either for dmestic use or exports to the US, where most of our natural gas goes now. Call me cynical, but it's hard for me to see this as anything but another attempt to slur the Liberals and the war in Ukraine is just a convenient vehicle for said slur.

Europe is like us. They want off of this drug.
Which is probably the best thing to do in the long run.......but, it is going to be a long run. It is not like a light switch that you can just switch off like you libs think it is. Much work has to be done in the transition.

True that, oil and gas will be with us for a while yet, but future success depends upon moving in the right direction. What the people speaking about in the article linked to in the opening post is basically a long term solution to a short term problem, that goes against the long term solutions already adopted for burning fossil fuels in general. It's not a realistic solution to replace Russian exports, it's more like electioneering.

The same day that Canada announced the Kitimat LNG project one was announced in Louisiana.

The US one is already doing exports.

Construction of the project is currently underway and is expected to be completed in 2025.

Holy fuck, we actually agree on something.

Let's get those hybrids moving to ease that transition.

The first 3 projects including the East coast one would have been up and running by now if it wasn't for the bogus whale calving grounds, tanker bans, and FN issues

Did they export their “Earth Defenders” to Canada to protest Coastal GasLink to jumpstart the Louisiana project?

The ones that don’t give a shit what the FN Bands & elected representatives want and sided with the 5 “ hereditary chiefs“ who needed a bigger personal cut? I’m assuming you’d have to be from the outside to be that situationally tone deaf.

Tone-deaf we may be, but we're exporting and you ain't.

Once upon a time, I was leaving the Redskins Stadium (wearing my Ravens jersey) after the Ravens had beaten the Redskins, and somebody yelled at me "Ravens suck!" I just yelled back the obvious. . . "Kicked your ass."

I was pointing out what I thought was the obvious with respect to the “ Earth defenders“ as is the media portrays them with respect to the five hereditary chiefs involved in the conflict, versus the elected government by those nations.

Many of our protesters are imports, with respect to the environmental development in Canada….When the same type of environmental development is happening on the US side….But here they are!! Irony.

I'm a hereditary chief. I can prove it! It is the oral history. . . of my people!

Y'all pay way too much attention to protesters.
