Liberals Offend Military

Well there is a base in Oshawa, in Toronto and in Nanaimo. Now they don't have five hundred soldiers there but they have supplies, vehicles and weapons.
So Canadian soldiers are already in Canadian cities.

Where is that? I haven't contacted my local legion but I wouldn't be surprised if it is all across Canada.

From what I've seen so far, there are Reg force or Reserve bases in every major Canadian city. Using them as scare tactics are a little asinine.
Yeah, the Liberals lost me this election. Now I get to return to daily oscillation between the NDP and Conservatives. What I wouldn't give for a non-corrupt Centrist party.

Well i'm at this point sure that this ad will be to the Liberals what the Jean Chretian face/polio add was to the old Conservative Party.
I cannot fathom how parties in power, with all the money at their disposal..sit there and cannot see the add as dispicable. Who pays these people? I would fire their ass immediately for not even once thinking..geez..is this going to create a backlash? Doesn't one person on the campaign team stop and ask questions? Did they honestly think this add was approrpriate.
When shit like this happens, how ever accidental it might have been, i immediately question the judgement of the party.

So you think that implying that Stephen Harper is going to fill Canadian streets with Soldiers, with guns, also implying some kind of martial law, or coup.
So yes, it is insulting to the Canadian soldiers they are implying would be used in this way.
Now maybe you didn't get that impression. Most of the rest of the country, and soldiers and veterans did. And they are outraged.

But it is the insinuation that is an insult, not only to the military. but to every Conservative voter in the country.
The insinuation is that Harper will use the military in some evil way.....otherwise why have soldiers....with guns...in the cities?
An incredible insult, coming from the party whose idol put soldiers ion the streets and suspended civil liberties after two kidnappings!

I honestly see nothing insulting about that ad and am amazed at the controversy surrounding it.
Canadian soldiers should not be on Canadian streets because of recent gun-related homicides. That isn't why they commence training in the military. :?:

Who said they should be on the streets to deal with homicides?????
Harper's idea was to have local garrisons to provide aid in natural disasters.
Soldiers can not be allowed to act as police. Nobody wants that, nobody needs that, and NOBODY has proposed that.

The federal Liberal emergency plan for tsunami or earthquake in BC is the AMERICAN military will come up and help from Washington State. (I'm not making this up

Katrina compared to a good sized tsunami would be like comparing a firecracker to the bombing of Hiroshima.
And you saw the problem the USA had dealing with Katrina.
A tsunami is EXPPECTED on the west coast, and if it happens it will strike both the USA and Canada. The Yanks will be too busy to supply us with everything we need, as they did after the ice storm.
We had best be prepared ourselves.

Just replace a gradual focusing in on a close-up of Harper shouting with a gradual focusing in on a close-up of Martin shouting. Keep the same identicial music. Get a voice-over lady that sounds identical to the Liberals'.

If they did run the ad it would prove to Canadians that the Torys have a good sense of humor and they would probably further surge ahead in the polls........... however it would probably cause a problem with the US once Harper got in.
