RE: Liberals are the Most

If you can read the Vancouver Province tomorrow, Michael Smythe is doing an article about Gurmant's exploits from when he tried to "steal" the Reform nomination back in the day. Should be interesting. If you can't acess it, do not worry, I will post it in the "Gurmant Grewal" thread tomorrow sometime.

Hey bub, wake up and smell the oil: we finance the WHOLE COUNTRY right now. And that INCLUDES lining your Liberal pals pockets.

Give it up, Matty. Blue tried that one a while back. Maybe he'll be kind enough to point you to the thread where he got handed his ass.

Plus, BC would go. Absolutely.

We have a fair number of BCers on here. Why don't you ask them what they think of your little separatiste scheme?

Do the math dude:

I did, remember? That's why you're yarking at me about this. I pointed some (not all) of the ongoing costs you plan to pay for with $20 billion a year. I was up to at least $50 billion when I quit.

Pretty easy to knock the payers when you are the recipients. And no one hands me my ass, especially you. My points were never refuted because they couldn't be, despite your efforts at spin. Matty has some good points.,

The total amount of revenue this fiscal year for the feds is abobut $200 Billion. So lib dude with his brilliant accounting figures AT LEAST $50 Billion or 1/4 of the entire federal budget goes toward providing services in Alberta!!! lol man...he smart!

What he forgets is that we would no longer have to pay Fed Income Tax to Canada, so all that revenue would stay in Alberta. The GST would obviously go, to be replaced? Maybe, maybe not. We already pay the feds a lot for the RCMP, so the cost of our own police force would be reduced. Regarding military, if we got one, would Canada want one too? Seriously, if we gave the US access to Cold Lake in return for their protection, I would support that.
So add on our transfer payments plus the federal income tax and the surpluses we have now, with the additional revenues the oilsands will bring in, yes, it is doable. Easy, no, but then Albertans have never backed down from a challenge, have they.

PLUS: You have to understand that most of the social programs we have in Canada would be less expensive than "pro rata" as a percentage of the rest of the country because Alberta is a full employment (minimal EI costs) and we essentially have a two major police forces in Edmonton and Calgary so we'd simply need to man the smaller towns. Anyone who thinks Alberta needs Canada and not vise versa is living on another planet. This guy has no idea what he's talking about, he is living in a centrally planned dreamworld.

Lets see it Lib.

Since I'm not a Liberal, I consider that a heinous personal attack.

Lets see this brilliant accounting you think you have done and then I'll let you know where you erred.

Add it up yourself. You need a military, a secret service, a foreign service, a plan for the natives...call it $50 billion if you buy used helicopters from Canada for your military.

And no one hands me my ass, especially you.

It wasn't me, it was a poster from Ontario who is quite well-versed in economics. Why don't you point your friend in the direction of that thread?

Nice try, but I'm taling about additional services you would have to provide out of that $20 billion you were talking about.

Who was talking firewalls?

Stevie Harper.

If the libs get relected, especially with a majority, then Quebec separatism will look like a garden party.

Will Ricky Nelson's ghost come and sing for us?

Invade? with what? helicopters that don't fly? a militarey with no guns? Keepin mind your track record with the US, peeps. You shunned them on support in Iraq and Missile defense. You may not know this, but Ralph Klein consistently visits washington and wall street on his own independant ot "Canada". We have a far superior rela'p with the US than you do,and if you invaded us the US would kick your ass all the way back to commieland--er I mean Toronto.

Oh, Vanni that is so funny....remember, though, we all have guns out here, unregistered, tons of ammo, with people ready to man the barricades to keep all rats, human and otherwise, out of Alberta. It must be true, all us rednecks keep enough weapons and ammo to hold off an invading army, the eastern media and CBC say so. Besides, what would you send your troops in, Sea Kings? The would have to fly from Toronto to Hamilton to the Sioux, maybe to Sinnipeg, then to Brandon, Yorkton, Regina, Moose Jaw, Speedy Creek, before they ever got to Alberta. By then, it would be over, and yor troops would be so exhausted they would stay in Alberta to become part of our new military, with actual equipment that doesn't fall apart.

Be careful what you wish for.......................

Dude, we ALREADY HAVE AND PAY FOR THOSE SERVICES...they would simply be administered by US. Plus we'd have all that extra dough we send to you folks out in the big smoke.

It would have to be voted on and it would nowhere near come to pass. The peace region it may be close or even pass, but so few votes their it would not effect overall tally anyways.

I think Southern Alberta would vote yes. Let's put it this way, the vote would be enough to scare the hell out of the east. The question would be is it enough to make them change.

I have asked several times, have received no answer. What is the benefit of staying in Canada?

Oh well, I'll have to leave the Conservatives to their wet dreams now. So far they've invited the US military in to protect them and are planning to defend and police themselves with some sort of weird vigilante force. It sounds a lot like Somalia actually. :p

Actually, making trade deals for Alberta, something the feds know nothing about. You see, we actually value our friends and know how to treat them, even if sometimes we disagree with them. But then, the rest of you are so scared of the US that you really cannot imagine anyone considering our biggest trading partner as a friend.

Yes, with representative democracy, intelligent, honest leadership, responsible and accountable government, annual GDP per capita of $60,000, an oil royalty check in the mail every month, freedom from centrally planned stupidity. Other than that -- just like somalia. Good one rev. Are you an accountant or a Poli sci guy? you're sooo good at both lol.

See dude, this is why the Libs always win. People in central Canada don't judge governments by their BEHAVIOR, they judge 'em by the COLOUR OF THE BANNER. See people in TO don't have the mental wherewithal to determine when they are being F**Ked in the *SS by their own government, and they'd rather be F**KED in the *SS than admit that the party they like screwed 'em.

See, for Ontarians it's like a hockey game. The pick a side, then cheer for it...no matter what. So Whatever that side does to F*CK them, they feel they can;'t change their mind because they have already picked a team. Got it? Weird I know, not a recipe for good government, but at least the "win" elections....like hockey games. Not too bright these ones out east. YA>>>POLITIC LIKE HOCKEY YA!!!

Well I am a payer bluealberta, and I do care about those "recipients" your arrogance might one day come back to bite that very ass of yours. I guess those southern belles were right when they said just coz you got new money, doesan't you got any class. You do not speak for all westerners, if you did, I would be moving back east 8O

"Back" east ...haha you ain't no westerner. Anyway, you must be one of those dozen or so people protesting the balanced budget on the steps of the ledge while the rest of the province was basking in financial freedom...

Abosolutely correct. same here I lived in Toronto and southern Ontario areas for 25 years and no one is ever interested in something new. Yep they will bitch and complain but rarely do anything about it...heard lots of "what are you going to do about it" .." there all the same anyways" and the big one " I don't think I'll vote anymore it doesn't matter anyways....Thank God I moved east!!!! Ok eastern Ontario but away from white bread undesided society!!!

Ontario will only vote people out of power..like a punishment to the team until next season when the buy the tickets again...Not actually looking for change but more of telling politians that they are there and could do something about it..if only their chairs weren't so comfortable!!!

Oh yeah....The Liberals are corupt..and if we had a better leader than Stephen Harper they'd be toast!!!
