Taft was much fatter.

Yeah, I read somewhere that W.H.T. weighed in at 350 lbs.

Anyway my comment on Hillary didn't come from me............I was just quoting a publication! Regardless, I believe one of our freedoms includes having and stating opinions (regardless of how well founded they are) about politicians. If we didn't all political talk would cease! :)

As far as citizen's rights are concerned, I'm wondering what, if any restrictions, there are when discussing politicians. Up until now I've believed there were none.

Sorry, but I've been led to believe politicians are fair game for uncomplimentary remarks! Are they not? What's the general concensus on this?

Depends on what you mean by uncomplimentary.

Hillary should be hammered for her hypocrisy for sure and it should be noted that despite her running as a Dem she is just as beholding to the Corporate donors along with all the others in the running except for Trump and Sanders.

She has shown to be the polar opposite to Sanders.....

Scholar Michelle Alexander made headlines last week when she wrote a critical post about Hillary Clinton’s record on criminal justice issues. "I can’t believe Hillary would be coasting into the primaries with her current margin of black support if most people knew how much damage the Clintons have done—the millions of families [that were] destroyed the last time they were in the White House thanks to their boastful embrace of the mass incarceration machine and their total capitulation to the right-wing narrative on race, crime, welfare and taxes."

I posted a comment from a publication calling her fat, with a B.M.I. above 30 and one poster took offense calling me "disgusting". Up to now I thought we had a right to an opinion of politicians. (This same poster has made uncomplimentary comments about George Bush so I'm not sure what the difference is.) To be honest I don't like Hillary, but then I don't like most politicians! :) :)

Hillary gets slammed over a book blurb. In case you aren't following along this is over the Black vote in SC. Hillary and Bill have always claimed to be supporters of the Black cause so in this segment Hillary was trying to say Sanders doesn't like Black people because he hasn't always agreed with Obama......

Hillary Clinton laced into Bernie Sanders for his remarks earlier Thursday in which he questioned the leadership of President Barack Obama.

“I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves," Clinton said, speaking Obama's accomplishments and noting Sanders' past criticism of Obama in a book blurb and in other instances. "The kind of criticism that we've heard from Senator Sanders about our president I expect from Republicans, I do not expect from someone running for the Democratic nomination to succeed President Obama."

Sanders exclaimed, "Madame secretary, that is a low blow."

Noting "unprecedented Republican obstructionism," Sanders said, there has been "enormous progress."

"Last I heard, we lived in a democratic society. Last I heard, a United States senator had a right to disagree with a president, especially a president who has done such an extraordinary job," he added.

Sanders saved his most cutting remark for last.

"One of us ran against Barack Obama," he concluded. "I was not that candidate."

Sanders: 'Madame secretary, that is a low blow' - POLITICO

If you’re a Hillary Clinton supporter looking for reassurance from her email team, I’ve got bad news for you. They’d rather tell you about how awesome Bernie Sanders is.

In the email Hillary's Team is asking people to donate $1 to her—to bring down her average donation so it doesn’t look so one percent loaded.

Bernie raised $6 million yesterday

In the 24 hours after the polls closed in New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders' team says they raised more than $6 million.

One of Bernie's top strategists even bragged: "We are a better campaign … And as of today, I believe we have more resources, campaign to campaign, to expend. We are demonstrating that resource superiority by going on television all across this country.”

We were outspent 3-to-1 on television in New Hampshire, and we need to make sure that doesn't happen again. Can you chip in $1 right now to help close the gap?

What a charade! Who would think this clown show will end in the selection of the President of the most powerful country in the World, and what is most sad is it's highly likely there is not an ethical candidate in the whole kit and caboodle!

There's few ethical people in the world JLM. No sense expecting any difference in politics.

And with all of this... I still think she will be the next President.
Why not. What difference does it make. You can have her,,with all of her baggage, or you can have Trump with all of his baggage, Not a whole lot of integrity these days so what the hell difference does it make. It's okay to lie. It's okay to cover shyt up. It's okay to be a pretentious poser . All of this is okay so it makes not one damn bit of difference who is in there.

Yeah, I think you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. There's very little to choose between politicians and probably less to choose between political parties. There's three main endeavours, gain power, retain power and collect as fat a pension as possible!:) :)

Yeah. I don't blame them on the pension part. Don't know why anyone would give up their privacy for fame and power though. Not worth it.

Newest Sanders ad takes aim at Hillary's stance that only she cares for the Blacks.....

www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ8G-akE7H8

Why Hillary Doesn't Deserve The Black Vote

Black voters have been remarkably loyal to the Clintons for more than 25 years.

What have the Clintons done to earn such devotion?

Did they take extreme political risks to defend the rights of African Americans? Did they courageously stand up to right-wing demagoguery about black communities? Did they help usher in a new era of hope and prosperity for neighborhoods devastated by deindustrialization, globalization, and the disappearance of work?

No. Quite the opposite.

When Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, urban black communities across America were suffering from economic collapse. Hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs had vanished as factories moved overseas in search of cheaper labor, a new plantation. Globalization and deindustrialization affected workers of all colors but hit African Americans particularly hard.

Unemployment rates among young black men had quadrupled as the rate of industrial employment plummeted.

On the campaign trail, Bill Clinton made the economy his top priority and argued persuasively that conservatives were using race to divide the nation and divert attention from the failed economy. In practice, however, he capitulated entirely to the right-wing backlash against the civil-rights movement and embraced former president Ronald Reagan’s agenda on race, crime, welfare, and taxes—ultimately doing more harm to black communities than Reagan ever did.

We should have seen it.

Some actually believe that if Hillary is elected she'll reproduce her husbands economic policies and have the same success. Not sure the little guy Reich would want to leave his current position to work for her though.

What works is the middle class being employed and having that 30% tax base going strong. I happen to have been watching a program on Robert Reich and the economy last night so right now I'm impressed with the man.

Although he was accused of being socialist which is not true.

Hillary Voted Against Senate Amendment Banning Cluster Munitions in Civilian Areas

“Saudi Arabia and its coalition partners, as well as their U.S. supplier, are blatantly disregarding the global standard that says cluster munitions should never be used under any circumstances,” Steve Goose, the arms director at Human Rights Watch, said in the report.
