Would you want to smoke factory weed or weed from the guy down the street who grows amazing soil with really good weed growing in it?
I would rather grow a few plants myself and not worry about some stupid law which would make me a criminal. The fact of the matter is, it is available almost everywhere. I have been to parties where lawyers, one cop, doctors, and business people of all types were sitting around eating, drinking and smoking pot. Another stupid argument is if pot was legalized then it would lead to cocaine, hash, and a bunch of other crap. This is total crap. These old MP farts who run the government and need to be elected so they can remain at the public trough are so worried about losing their jobs that they will never vote to have it legal.

MPs are afraid of offending I don't know who, maybe their mommas or aunties. It's a yuppie drug. It's one reason why police and lawyers are so cynical about the law, they're users! Canadian style corruption here, don't say what you believe in, just keep raking in the bucks and laugh all the way to the bank while schmucks get hassled.

That hemp is a gateway drug makes as much sense that booze is a gateway drug too. Or that pot is more dangerous than alcohol.

I have no doubt the "tax they can scrape from potheads" would be considerably less than the profit dealers and pushers scrape from potheads once the illegal peddlers are out of the equation.

I'm just not convinced that legalization is going to stop dealing and peddling. There's a lot of potheads and not everyone is going to be growing their own supply, due to how accommodating their living situation is or even if they're willing. Some people would probably prefer to buy from a supplier.

... how very true!

So true it's worth a "green thumb" ?

Who the hell cares who the supplier is as long as it was legal. The problem
is the same as the old booze laws in the last century. We are going along
with the Americans on this because they are obsessed with winning the
imaginary war on crime. The governments of the loony right are no different
than those on the loony left when it comes to this. You cannot declare war
on an ideology or abstract concept. Oh you can but it is not a winning
proposition it is a hell of a waste of money and that is all. Its time to move on
figure out who can grow and under what restrictions and tax it accordingly.

Have you seen of the people who are in gangs and sell drugs? They're not exactly the type of people you'd ask to watch your house while you were on vacation.

they are obsessed with winning the imaginary war on crime.
So we should just stop fighting crime? We're never going to win the war on rape, should we legalize it?
