I can see the point about the offside rule; if it was made the same as in hockey, where there is a line to cross, it would certainly increase the goal chances. The way it is now, you have to be really careful where people are when you're getting a nice offensive pass going...it's also one the most misunderstood rule in soccer, at least at kids level.

I have no idea what lmao means. Someone is going to have to explain it to me.
Laughing My Ass Off. Soccer, or football as most of the world calls it, I've seen described as 22 millionaires ruining the lawn. I think that about covers it. It's a great game to play, requires tremendous conditioning and stamina, but to watch it is about as exciting as watching a crew paint my house. Professional sports strike me as adults getting rich playing children's games, and I have only a minor, passing interest in any of them. I concede that I like to see the Roughriders do well, and the Habs do well, but fundamentally, I really don't care very much. There are infinitely many more interesting things to do than watch sports.

Thanks. I agree with your assessment of professional athletes being vastly overpaid. However, it seems to be a phenomenon that is part of human history. The games played may change, but professional athletes for the most part have always been idolized out of all proportion to their contribution to society. I must say that I am not immune to their attraction although in recent years I have taken to reading a book while I watch a sporting event. I can always hit the replay button to watch any sudden excitement.
