"Stored" the sewage for three million people? The Island of Montreal has more bums on toilet seats than six of the provinces have people ... The Island of Montreal and it's immediate surroundings in the St. Lawrence Valley generate the equivalent amount of sewage of Saskatchewan, Manitoa and Nova Scotia. Their ain't no sewage lagoons in existence that can "store" that. It would be gigantic, multibillion dollar artificial "great lake". What Montreal DOES have is the Atlantic Ocean about a week's flow downstream from them and they made use of that geography for a one-time emergency to fix a major infrastructure project. You just don't like the French.

It was possible only a $1 Billion dollar price tag stopped them

"We studied all other alternatives, and this is the only option."
The city estimates it would cost $1 billion to build a temporary diversion or storage area for wastewater.
Mayor Denis Coderre had temporarily put the brakes on the plan after a public backlash earlier this week, saying it needed a second look.

44 Million barrels to store Oil companies are expected to store and treat 1.5 Trillion litres a year in the Oilsands. They could have at least rented a centrifuge and separated liquids from solids and treated the liquids and stored the solids for compost or post treat.

So, spent billions digging a massive sewage lagoon (where?) to store it for a month lest any sewage reach the powerful, fast-moving river that goes straight to the sea?

Good thing that you're not planning our civil works projects.

WE do it out in the prairies all the time everything is treated before it is released, you should see the lagoon set ups for Edmonton from sewage to Oil cost of doing your business.

A Billion is 10% the province gets in transfer payments to balance their budget, better spent on Environment than daycare

Nonsense. It's cheap anti-French propaganda and nothing better. They fixed a difficult problem and it is now just a memory. I spent the first third of my life sailing. boating on the St. Lawrence all the way down to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and it is a MASSIVE and powerful body of water without comparison on the continent and with few peers on the planet. It is like the Yangtze, bigger than the Ganges and you can be sure that both of those are moving 10x .. 20x more sewage to the sea every day than Montreal did in one day, once.

You're being silly.

So no big deal then? 250 Billion liters of raw sewage is discharged every year in Canada still no big deal? 1 Million litres of oil spilled into the Sask. River that was a really big deal dispersion rate is higher in Oil than Raw sewage and both are natural to earth what's the difference?

Not so Curious Cdn refers to a "one time emergency fix"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All CDN CITIES DO "EMERGENCY FIXES" ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ONLY NOTABLE thing about the Montreal "fix" is that it was MUCH BIGGER than normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it occurred at a time when LIE-berals were struggling to hang on to their claim to be environmentalists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time it rains the sewers overflow and release raw sewage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals KNOW this has been happening for MANY DECADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About 15 years back the City of Toronto calculated it would take one billion dollars to fix permanently the sewage over flow problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But Silly Hall LIE-berals NEEDED that billion dollars to BUY civil service union Hog votes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the sewage flows with every rainstorm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the SH+T has piled up deep enough now to DROWN any LIE-beral hope of being taken for environmentalists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow

Trudeau still wiping the floor with Scheer in terms of preferred Prime Minister.

Cons need to ditch this white natty and get a moderate

Or at least someone who isn't quite so repulsive.

Oh HOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are still scratching in the dirt like a chicken hunting worms with your efforts to promote the idiot Boy in the face of of logic and reason and repeated SCANDALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The part leader is merely a FIGURE HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which is why LIE-berals are running so SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They KNOW - just as Wynne-bag LIE-berals did- that DISGUST with the leader means SIMILAR DISGUST with the party that promoted the goof to leader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It actually helps the ndp.

Obviously......the more seats the NDP get, the less the Liberals get.

The more ridings in which the NDP split the "progressive" vote, the more ridings the Conservatives win.

I much prefer the NDP over the Liberals, they are at least sincere (although wrong) about their policies, while the Liberal Party of Canada has long been the most corrupt political entity in the country, without principles, and a tool of Bay Street.

I would like to see a CPC gov't, with the NDP as official opposition. In fact, I would like to see the NDP replace the Liberals as one of the two dominating parties in the country.

The Ideology of the Liberal Party of Canada has been "How do we get elected" since long before I was born. It appears to be unwavering, too no matter how much lipstick they trowel on to the pig.

An NDP/CPC coalition in the off chance of a minority situation would be a real hoot.

Something might actually get done.

Who else was it? You figger that Montreal is a little town beside the slough, Clem? One if the issues here is the vague knowledge of the geography of the Eastern parts of Canada. ...the "mysterious East" ...
