Trudeau's Accomplishments??

The War Measures Act is listed as an accomplishment???

As is the Official Languages Act and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms??

I don't think "accomplishment" means what they think it means.

:)

Problem here Colpy, is that you hate him and everything Liberal. Pierre Trudeau was respeced around the world by very intelligent people. He had the guts to invoke the War Measures Act when people were being kidnapped and murdered. What would you have done?

A Mouse Once Bit My Sister
Again= you are pulling ' Majik Justin' out of the bunny hat.

Face it- the speakership business was pretty shrewd and lucrative.. The man has entrepreneurial drive and vision.

Ohhhh - I forgot. Liberal making money in the private market sector is a 'non no' uh uh bad bad with you

This scandal will bite baby-t in the a$$ come election time... All the parties (even Lizzy May) will roast his butt for this abject stupidity

Not only will he be relegated to some form of 2nd tier opposition, but he may lose his seat altogether - and then no one will pay him a dime to speak.

Call it a win-win for society

I find there are places, that after adding 15-18% still get miffed when you don't add something more to the still present TIP line on the bill. If only negative numbers worked ...

If you go to pay your bill with your credit card, some places even have the audacity to have a blank spot for the tip, right after you punch in your P.I.N. ................crass ignorance to say the least.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau's Accomplishments

PET was well respected in the world and he helped put Canada on the map while he was in power. He had a vision for Canada...unlike our current PM.

It takes a hell of a lot of accomplishments to balance off a $500 billion bill.

If he was worth his salt he could have at least got rid of the French on the cereal boxes...............they got defeated on the Plains of Abraham damn near 250 years ago.

If memory serves, when one becomes an MP or MLA one must put their assets in a blind trust so their position theoretically can have no influence. This being the case Just In , or any other politician for that matteris breaking that rule because by charging for a speech he is having a direct influence on his business.

SIGH
that is just more silly pudding.

The JT Speakership was a great entrepreneurial venture, and believe it or not, JT ONLY contracted with adults.

I am ROTFLMAO lately at how quickly the anti Liberal righties turn into sanctimonious socialists as needed.

GET over it...

Apparently Liberals must take a vow of poverty when entering office while former conservative PMs can accept hundreds of thousands of dollars in brown paper bags from corporate bagmen, what did Mulroney do to earn that money again?

Mulroney-Schreiber affair - Canada - CBC News

Then he lied in court while suing the Canadian government for investigating his relationship with Schreiber.

Harper mum on revoking Mulroney deal - The Globe and Mail

The federal Justice Department took a keen interest in the Oliphant inquiry's stinging assessment of Brian Mulroney's sworn testimony when he sued the federal government in the mid-1990s, documents released under the Access to Information Act show.

When copies of Mr. Justice Jeffrey Oliphant's report started circulating through the department in May, a justice official analyzed the judge's findings about Mr. Mulroney's 1996 examination-for-discovery - when the former prime minister testified that he shared the occasional cup of coffee with lobbyist Karlheinz Schreiber, but didn't mention the envelopes of cash he took from the German-born businessman.

At least Justin Trudeau offered to return the money he earned legally, how about Mulroney return the money he took from Canadian taxpayers by lying in court.

The official scribbled impressions, written in French, in the margins of the report:

"Should have declared the money he received from Mr. Schreiber and his relationship with Mr. Schreiber during the... examination in 1996," one such note states.

"Was hiding," another note states.

But more than six months since Judge Oliphant declared that the former prime minister "failed to disclose appropriately the facts," the Conservative government remains steadfastly silent about what it intends to do about the $2.1-million given to Mr. Mulroney for his legal fees and public relations expenses.

Inquiries to Justice Minister Rob Nicholson about the settlement were returned by his spokeswoman, who declined to answer direct questions about the minister's views on trying to recover the funds.

"Justice Oliphant's report remains with the appropriate authorities," Pamela Stephens repeated in two separate e-mails. Two weeks ago in the House of Commons, Mr. Nicholson was asked by New Democrat MP Thomas Mulcair whether the government would try to set aside the settlement, yes or no? When Mr. Nicholson failed to specify, Mr. Mulcair shouted back at him: "Canadians are the victims here. They lost their two million bucks."

Has the Harper government done anything to get our $2.1 million back from Mulroney?
