It is becoming
clear the opposition has plugged in to the notion Canadians are not in favor of
going to war in Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria maybe but they are not in favor of going
to Iraq.

Which is a bit strange as Isis has more or less erased the Iraqi-Syrian border. If you are going to go against them it has to be in both countries. Otherwise they can just pull back to the other side of whichever border you wont cross then rearm or get new people then launch across again.

Hopefully it's not a complete waste of time either way.

Oh come on now. Imagine all the fodder you'd be able to post if it is.

Here's a diabetic cookie so you don't get to excited, and a box tissues to clean yourself up with, lolz

Don't forget to rehydrate.

Aside from the consistency issue that is my concern with this mission. Some advisers and a couple planes for a few months isnt really doing much. If we were to lose one or some people then stop after 6 months, then whats the point really?

This will no doubt be a big election issue. Well, maybe not too big. Afghanistan didnt seem to be much of an issue over the last five or so. Not as big as it should have been anyway.

Yep.

Funny implication though, you should see my thread on Vigilante Vigilante. You get why, lolz.

Pretty sure there's a thread for the lolz stuff too.

Shouldn't something like Congo be a big issue as well then?

I say concentrate of Syria the group there appears to be training young people to
come home and create hell on earth here (an Islamic State) and we have to be
prepared for that situation when it comes and it will if we continue to do nothing.

They have to come home to do anything. Improving border security is one major area we should be working on regardless of our role over there. If they cant get in or wind up arrested at the border that could potentially save a lot of money, lives and effort.

Well actually now that you mention it, most of your threads, so it's more than just one thread for lolz stuff.

Shouldn't something like Congo be a big issue as well then?
Yes. I've been saying it for years.

Usually to you anti Israeli types, but saying it none the less.

That was my point about consistency. There the death toll is in the millions which makes Isis look like nothing by comparison.
They've been at it longer, which is a shame. But ISIS is trying to play catch up.

Interesting.

So why is ISIS such a big deal but there is nothing being done in Congo?

Given the longevity and means of groups in the middle east I doubt they will be able to. Plus there are a hell of a lot less people living in that region than in central Africa. I guess proportionally they have the potential to catch up.

The sad answer is probably just because its Africa.

I think we shouldn't be so selective about where we put our assistance if we are going to make such a big comotion about moral obligation.

Pro western gov'ts, that keep the resources flowing despite the carnage.

Apathetic populous. Weak politicians.

We can always pull back and give them time.

There's resources there to be exploited regardless.

I agree, wow, what's that, two or three today?
