Speaking of slimy, feces eating politicos, Harper may request a writ drop by end July. Yup, Tomorrow.

Electioneering begins Aug.1.

Check out BCCBCBG, by jees.

I have been following this as well and I note that the NDP gets far more news coverage than the Liberals. Granted, they are the opposition, but the Liberals have still not learned the lessons of arrogance and still think they are the natural choice. They would have been better served to find an experienced Liberal to lead them into rebuilding the party.

Trudeau was picked because of his pedigree and because the Liberal Party thinks that Canadians as a whole are idiots who will vote for a leader because his Daddy was extremely popular. Newsflash!! Canadians aren't that stupid. Justin had no experience as an MP when he took the position, therefore he had zero credentials to be leader.

I'd agree with the Op Ed piece. He's toast. Mulcair has a greater chance of being PM and when you come right down to it, he's far more qualified than Trudeau.

I think that once Canadians have the opportunity to see Mr. Justin Trudeau M.P. (Papineau), the Leader of the Liberal Party, and the policies of his party laid side-by-side against the platforms of the Conservatives and the New Democrats, electors are going to realize very quickly that the best way to move forward and to advance Canadian interests is with the Liberal Party of Canada.

I think you might want to trade in your Red tie for an Orange one.

If he loses the election and i think that likely its possible the party will get rid of him right then and there like they did with Ignatieff and Dion. I dont know if thats the best move. Not every leader wins on the first try. Most of them dont. Getting rid of them after one go just for that reason doesnt make much sense to me. Though there are other reasons to get rid of him. We shall see.

I don't think Justin has the stamina of his old man....

At his age the old man hadnt entered politics yet so who knows.

I may be mistaken but I thought that was his prerogative!

I'm sure that he is a nice guy, but ....

He is. Ive met him a few times. Pretty friendly. Still wouldnt vote for him. Same with Harper. He really surprised me in person. He for whatever reason only lets a very cold exterior show to the public most of the time.

Neither did his father or Mulroney. They both won several majorities. In Mulroney's case one of the few true majorities in Canadian history.

As I recall his Daddy was extremely popular with a lot of women back in 1968, but by the time he'd run up $1/2 a trillion in debt, the bloom was off the rose! Arrogant S.O.B.

They still put him back in after that in 1980.

I can already hear the knives sharpening way off in the distance and the writ hasn't even been dropped, yet. I am the only one to see an impending train wreck for a locomotive that is standing still on a siding? The Liberal brand is still in tatters and the Liberals and only the Liberals are responsible for it.

I remember it well - it was a protest vote against Joke Lark, it was at the time gasoline surpassed a $1 a gallon and people didn't like it. It wasn't long after that the wheels fell off Trudeau's wagon. We were $500 billion in debt.

I think the Conservatives are targeting the wrong leader - Mulcair and the NDP are ahead, so he and his fellow socialists should be the focus of the attack ads.

Maybe, the Dippers recent success in Alberta does give one something to think about, but Federally I think ratings in the polls is just a flash in the pan. I'm guessing Mulcair and Jr. will kill each other. But I could be wrong.

This is why protest votes are stupid. Dont put your vote behind anyone you dont want to win because they just might.

Yeah, Joe Clark was good P.M. I think, but 8 months didn't give him much of a chance and besides you shouldn't be getting rid of someone over a single issue.

My understanding is that the NDP have been consistently ahead of the Liberals in the polls.

The other thing is what will happen if Harper loses the government. I don't see him remaining as leader of the opposition, so he'll probably resign.

That might be a fairly big leap at this stage but if it happens I'd say your right, I doubt if he'll be somebody's toady. It's early days yet, Mulcair (or Harper) might do something stupid.
