He's a kid. It is unfair to judge him as anything but.

He actually can sing. Right now he is groomed for his optimum target market.

Good for him, a young kid from Stratford who wanted to sing. And he is known world wide. I really doubt that anyone here is of an age to know how he compares to others of his current age in terms of talent, and ability.

No one can predict if he will sing for the next 50 years or not. It will also depend upon if he wants to or not. Desire has a huge impact on success.

I will point out that the same could have been said (and I will lay odds was said) about Michael Jackson.

Yeah it probably was said and I will point out that the exceptions often prove the rule.Who knows, maybe he'll be the next Michael Jackson who, although I personally did not care for his music, I will say embodied some talent and creativity. Which flourished after he got out from under the thumb of the man who was 'packaging' him.

Or maybe he'll be the next Donny and become a broadway star.

But he could just as easily be the next Leif Garret or Shaun Cassidy (just off the top of my head that I can remember from when I was in that age group).

When his fan base outgrows him. It'll happen. The kids, mostly young girls, will grow up and he'll be at some point too old himself to generate a hold upon the younger crowd coming up, they'll latch on to someone else. So unless he makes a radical change with what kind of work he's doing he won't grow with his fan base.

Personally I find it really unlikely that any individual or group that is that 'packaged' will do that. Been to a Spice Girls concert lately?

The young girls love him so what, this too shall pass. The problem for some people is
that when he goes from the spotlight he will have so much money to do nothing with,
and people really hate that. The are jealous of him. I don't care for him either but I don't
care about silly antics.

Like I said, the exceptions prove the rule a lot of times. But really is he still going strong or is he still just singing "Puppy Love" to the aging Boomer crowd?
