Sex, drugs and rock-n-roll ... or did someone piddle in his Pablum?

Well the drugs I can understand but, please, do not ever use the words "sex" and "rock-n-roll" in a sentence referencing the Biebs again. I mean, like, never, ever, ever. Please.

Okay?

;)

It's amazing how many people are jealous of the success of one kid. A kid that they don't know ta boot. Just amazing.

There's jealous ... and then there are folk who just find "The Bebe" annoying. Stick away from attention-seeking obnoxiousness. That's working Lindsay and Brittany's street corner

Embarrassing to who and why?
Let's start with, see LW's post.

Then lets move on to, he's an embarrassment to real Canadian talent, and of course let's not forget those who know music is far more than well scripted pap.

He's a well marketed commodity, with a select target demographic, that isn't known for it's reason, discerning tastes or critical thought.

We recently lost a true Canadian icon, 100 years from now, he'll still be a Canadian icon, the stuff of legends and the source of great inspiration in the Canadian music scene.

10 years after the Beibsters funeral, they'll all be asking, "Justin who?"

And rightly so, he spews pure unadulterated junk. While pretending to be a player and clinging onto other useless shytes.

Nah, not jealous of his success. A bit envious of his bank account maybe, but not jealous. Poking a bit of fun at the teeny bopper flash in the pan du jour (and he is a flash in the pan by the way) hardly amounts to jealousy and is in fact required to keep membership in the rock n'roll will never die club. It was done when I was younger to those who were red hot at the time and now reside in the where are they now file, and it continues to be done.

And bottom line is, it's pretty harmless.

Flash in the pan....... so.... how long does a "flash in the pan" last?

When his fan base outgrows him. It'll happen. The kids, mostly young girls, will grow up and he'll be at some point too old himself to generate a hold upon the younger crowd coming up, they'll latch on to someone else. So unless he makes a radical change with what kind of work he's doing he won't grow with his fan base.

Personally I find it really unlikely that any individual or group that is that 'packaged' will do that. Been to a Spice Girls concert lately?

So, the majority of singers and groups out there are "flash in the pans" by your definition.

No, that's not quite what I mean. It's very much dependant upon the audience that embraces them. Specifically the 'tween' crowd, and that's the category where I do believe Bieber fits. That's whats earned him his fame and fortune and that particular fan base, while extremely loyal before they outgrow the artist, once they move on they really move on. While he himself was 16, 17 years old, that was really appealing to the 12 and 13 year olds. When he hits 25 he won't be, 12 and 13 year olds will probably consider him too old. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about but I suspect you already know that.

I will point out that the same could have been said (and I will lay odds was said) about Michael Jackson.

I'd disagree with you there.

WHY? because Jackson managed to change his style as he grew older and still pull his original fans along as well as expand his fan base? "I" remember the comments made about the teeny bopper Jackson and his teeny bopper fans. How he would disappear after his voice change. Didn't happen.

Ya, that's exactly why.

Beiber is no Little Micheal.

I guess we will see how well me manages his career, because they bad mouthed Jackson and they bad mouthed Osmond. Donny still sells out in Vegas and he is in his mid 50's.

We'll see.

Jackson didn't employ the same drama techniques as Beiber.

Jackson also had more talent in one toe nail clipping than Justin has in his entire body.

Donny still sells out in Vegas and he is in his mid 50's.
Ya, in Vegas.

Vegas, like Rama, is where the washed up go to die slowly. While the slowly dying go to relive their youth.
