He must be new to the internet.

Associate Judge Joseph Polito was trusted with one of Will County’s most notorious heater cases in 2007 when he presided over Plainfield man Craig Stebic’s attempt to divorce his missing wife Lisa.
Now he’s at the center of an unsolved riddle of his own.

Someone using Judge Polito’s computer login and password at the Joliet courthouse has been trying to use county computers to view hardcore Internet pornography, documents obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times show.

Polito won’t say if it’s him — but Chief Judge Gerald R. Kinney has apologized “for any embarrassment this incident has caused.” And he’s referred the case to the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board, which has the power to file disciplinary charges that could result in Polito being suspended or even fired.

Among the 243 porn websites somebody using Polito’s county computer account attempted to access are chubbyparade.com, hugeheavybreasts.com, bigbras-club.com, portofdebauchery.com and teenagesextape.com.

Well maybe he was working in an official capacity. After all he is a judge, maybe he
was judging the best sight.

Most men and at least a few women have actively searched for porn on the internet. Yet nearly everyone pretends its something others do.

My problem with porn is when it involves exploiting people, which it often does. But porn made and viewed by consenting adults should be no one's business but the people involved.

The judge used a computer for personal business. I doubt he would have made the news for checking personal emails. But because personal business was a of sexual nature, he may face some form of disciplinary actions.

What year is this? 1912 or 2012?

I support the right of people not to see porn if they chose. But I don't support one person imposing their version of morality on others.

If the judge broke the law, then he should face justice. But if he was using a work computer for private business then he should face appropriate disciplinary action. That he used a work computer to view porn is beside the point.
