Well, British and Americans have revealed something to the public.

I heard about it before. Even though Canada is not engaged in military action in Iraq, however there are some Canadian forces.

The second in command was a Colonel of the CANADIAN Army, serving with US forces in Iraq.

Canadians have been serving in Iraq since day one of the war. When you send men and/or women on exchange to another nation, they in essence become an extension of said nation. We're lucky in many ways that some of our senior leadership are getting the experience in Iraq, for when they return to their Canadian units, they become a valuable asset in the way of training.

What do they need 1 (one - single) dozen JTF2 memebers in Iraq for? What? Are they the only SF in the world?

Another classic example of how Aeon simply cannot accept facts when they are presented. I'm sure if he woke up in hospital after getting hit by a truck named "Facts" he would still deny it --- "The doctors are covering for someone. I KNOW it"

First this simple rescue, which he apparently never heard of, is "making the world a more dangerous place than it ever was (ever!!)." = lolz.

Then it must've been evil people working for evil corporations or why would anyone care enough to rescue them right?

while information on JTF2 and JTF1 are not usually released it has been widely assumed that JTF2 has been in and out of Afghanistan since at least the American invasion. There was a very famous photo of a JTF2 member escorting Afghnis detainees from a plane a yr or 2 ago on the front page of the Globe and Mail.

This thread isn't even about Afghanistan, it's about Iraq. How the hell does Afghanistan even corollate with Iraq? Furthermore, you may sit there and disagree that JTF-2 wasn't there to only rescue hostages, that's fine, but it just further proves you're out to lunch with reality. If JTF-2 troops were in Iraq, contributing to the War (a war which both the Federal Government said they'd stay out of, and the Canadian people don't want to be a part of), why would they then expose their presence at all? Why not utterly keepy it quiet that they were there? Why not let the Brits and Yanks accept the congratulations for rescuing the hostages? Too outside the box for you aeon? What's your retort to that one?
