In what I am sure will be a classic in the genre Justin will deliver his take on the apology for the residential school thing. There may be actual tears. Well warranted in this case. A terrible and unbelievable episode/experiment in human engineering. To call it a failure would be a gross understatement.Hopefully our eloquent Prime Minister can somehow bring some closure for these poor people.

How many of the native lawyers that are negotiating treaties were educated in the residential system . Did the system fail these lawyers ?

Yes, Actually. Turning Aboriginals into lawyers is the cultural génocide. He will unearth the truth and follow that truth to its healing place.

If it helps then im all for this apology. Words alone cant fix the problem but an apology can help heal the emotional part of it. For some people myself included being able to admit a wrong goes a long way

More from our grovelling, effeminate, flake of a PM.

He's locked into this as a distraction from the Liberals directionless and visionless leadership. The residential schools were set up to protect indigenous children from lives of itinerant trapping and poverty, alcoholism, violence, abuse, illiteracy and the deep pessimism associated with animist and pagan superstition.

Children were sent there for 6+ months a year from wilderness camps, were properly educated, nourished and given health care. There was NO systematic abuse, although as in every situation there were abusive people in the system.

This present totem of 'White Christian Guilt' came into vogue when it appeared that money or even land grants might stem from its portrayal as a government supported form of ethnic cultural cleansing. It became the script from which government, media and native groups were not allowed to deviate. Only in a society racked with pessimism and confusion, and gross revision of history and fact, would this nonsense be accepted.

And only a pathetic fawing weakling, lacking any character and identity himself.. like Justin Trudeau would promote it.

I beg to disagree, Angst..........JT is nothing but an opportunist with no clue as to how to contain this mess. It will take years of strong Conservative government to clean up the chaos he will leave behind.

Northern Ontario,
He should be a hit.......
At least with the Chiefs....

How are his plans to repeal the First Nations Financial Transparency Act?

He has done nothing to enforce it, and crooked chiefs and councils are happy!

Or how about this...

The government finally, publicly apologizes for the wrongs they did.

Now the native community can't bitch and complain so much anymore about the lack of sympathy from "Canada".

I'd think anyone opposed would see this as a great opportunity to have those damned Indians STFU.

The Indians are on a roll, they got JT crying all over them, now they will just continue to suck on country as much as they can for as long as JT is in power,

In my experience its almost always their political leaders who bitch and complain. The natives I'm friends with and deal with every day honestly don't bitch...

Like 1/3 of my friends are native and none bitch about the white man. Mind you we do have some good jokes with each other that aren't politically correct.

Not going to happen, Serryah. The Innu are already gearing up for their own form of compensation and apology as they didn't consider this one covered it.

How many Jews survived the Death Camps and went on to become lawyers? Did the system fails those lawyers.

what I find almost unbelievably bizarre is the quantifying of the abuse that occurred.

In order for a native to collect the maximum pa out they have to prove they were anally violated at least 4 times by a person or object. So the fun of being abused never ends.
