I first thought this was a memorium thread.

Is it wrong not to like that guys' music? I mean, really. Do,do,do, lookin' out my back door. A dinosaur Victrola listening to Buck Owens? Gag me with a spoon.

I dig the new stuff the kids are listening to on their walkmans.

Hop in my Chrysler,
it's as big as a whale
and it's about to set sail!
I got me a car, it seats about twenty
So c'mon and bring your jukebox money.

Yay.

There is a video out there on Youtube of a couple of friends of mine singing that during the warm up to the Ellen Degeneres show.

Gotchya...

That would be why I really don't like him, he seems to have to force it out in a scream or yell.

It always sounds a little monotone when he does that.

I do like his rendition of "The Ghost of Tom ones" though.

His rendition? He wrote it.

Love John Fogerty. I saw him here at Ottawa Bluesfest in july. I was really impressed at his performance given his age and all. His voice is still in great shape and his hair looks like its been the same since the 60s.

As for Springsteen he's one of my favorites. I agree with the comments about Born in the USA though. Hasnt aged well, bad production. Funny how a lot of people mistake the meaning of the song. My favorites of his would be Darkness on the Edge of Town and Nebraska. I'll go for anyone who has great lyrics.

I saw "CCR" in Elliot Lake a few years back and left very disappointed. Tom was gone (already knew that) there was no John and I really didn't recognize the guy on bass.

I hate it when bands with 1 original member use the name. The Guess Who is another one. I think the drummer and the bass player are the only originals left with them.

Brian Adams, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray and all the others got overplayed because
we have a Radio Can Con regulation that 30% of the music played must be Canadian.
Recorded in Canada, Performer, music and lyrics Canadian.
I have so many that could be in the ranks of CCR, Once group I really liked was Blood
Sweat and Tears. Grand Funk Railroad and Country Joe and the Fish were alright as
well. Jefferson Airplane was alright.
Damn every time you folks start this thing with music groups I end up in the basement
hauling oldies upstairs for two day of vinyl. I always liked the music of Paul Simon and
Bob Dylan as we..

Bob Dylan is awesome. Seeing him live will likely be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Been a huge fan of his more than half my life. Leonard Cohen too. Totally different type of music, but they have similar lyrical roots.
