JFK and RFK were opportunistic scumbags.

It's a case of the myth being bigger than the man. When someone is taken suddenly he suddenly becomes more than he was and, instead, he becomes all that he could have been.

Yesterday was the anniversary of that historic day when a shot from a grassy knoll plunged a whole nation into mourning.

Yes, it was the tenth anniversary of Jonny Wilkinson's drop goal in extra time against the Aussies, which won the Rugby Union World Cup for England in Sydney.

They were elitist douchebags and the the men in that family were scumbags. No loss.

Now if that murdering rapist kennedy nephew skakel would be sent back to prison, all will be right with the world.

Because nothing says "Honor JFK" like gazing at the back of Barack Obama's head gazing up at JFK

Both Sirhan Sirhan and Lee Harvey Oswald had connections to the CIA, who were ultimately responsible for the killing of both JFK and RFK.

It seems a whole lot of peeps either do not know how the Kennedy family originally got rich and powerful, or believe BS.

That was two generations before the ones we're discussing. These ones had nothing to do with that. There is no way in hell I'd take responsibility for things my family did before I was born. Why should they?

Of course one is not directed by family members, one also has no allegiance to money, yeah right, thank you.

By today's standards they would not have been placed on such a pedestal. They were both womanizers, they stabbed people in the back, including almost getting Frank Sinatra killed after he went to the the Union (cough cough) bosses and got their support. It was John F Kennedy who committed troops to Vietnam. So where does this idiotic hero worship come from?

Certainly don't wish they got shot, but like many icons (John Lennon) they are more myth than anything.
Just one quick look would say you are right as apparently not one other leader made your list. You don't want to see my list cause then I would have to make one.

I am intrigued. Tell me more.
Bootlegging Canadian Whiskey. For all the good prohibition did I think it was brought in just to kill off the old brewers and make room for the new ones and as an added onus an instant criminal element how owe there fortunes to Uncle Sam.

I'm thinking you would keep the money you were getting as an inheritance, no matter how they got it, after all you won't do any time for the crime.

How many decades since you updated what the you know about that black day? This is a graphic video of his murder, it's also stabilized and hq

There must be something more sinister than that, right?

I know his dad was involved in a lot of insider trading and he was accused of bootlegging, though the poster made it sound like there was something more fun.

Our crazy Rob Ford is a shiny example of that. He hasn't ripped off the tax payers, he's fiscally responsible, but he lied to the voters and has involved himself in illicit behavior. That cancels out the good.

By the looks of things most of the people who support him disagree with you on that. His base is remaining very loyal because they dont care about what he does so long as he keeps his promises to them. So far he has.

wow, that's pretty graphic...never seen it like that before, up close and personal...why would she climb across the back of the car?

Ive read a few reasons. One was calling for help from Secret Service agents who were right behind them. Another was that she was picking up a piece of his skull and brain which went flying back there. Perhaps both. She definitely did try to put a piece of his head back in place and held it there for awhile.

thanks WLDB. My god I can't even begin to imagine sitting beside someone as their head is blown off let alone sitting beside someone whom I loved while they had their head blown off...she was crawling fast... it's much more real in this video than anything I've seen before

I was taught as a child not to speak ill of the dead. They are all dead now except Caroline and Ethel , and you can bet they miss their families.

Being dead doesnt make a person any better or worse than they were in life. If a person did bad things I see no problem in discussing or debating them. I never understood the "dont speak ill of the dead" line. They're dead, they dont care. Their family may, but these guys were public figures and that goes with the territory. They knew that.

Nor I. Hope I never do. In a ways she was lucky. She could have been killed too. Its amazing how well she handled it. There is that famous picture of her with LBJ as he was being sworn in as President. That was only about two hours later.

Insider trading caught on like nothing else so if that was a crime the whole Congress and Senate could be locked up tomorrow.
His families biggest fault is there were honest 'crooks' in that they sold good whiskey and not some rot-gut that was made in the laundry sink between loads. Booze was still a business after prohibition, all the rich ones had business like that since George Washington. His secret society speech was directed as shady bankers and other who do all their business in secret behind closed doors.

I read one story that Jackie was getting one of the Secret Service guy's attention, and another that she was attempting to retrieve a piece of skull that skittered across the trunk deck. It's like everything else about that day. Your guess is as good as anyone's.

The JFK show on CNN made a great point. It said that given so many people felt the government was involved in the shooting this event was the dawn of the modern day distrust of government. The 60's exploded with anti-government movements, like the hippies and anti-Vietnam war.

They interviewed the secret service guy who was on the back of the car. He said Jackie was collecting a part of the head.
