see, I know what the first poster is saying, BUT I also know that it's not as clear cut as that, sure, Jesus had no quarm in hanging around with what were the "dregs of society" back then, gays, lesbians, the crippled etc.
But I dont think he purely just "accepted" that the situation they found themselves in could not be cured and I certainly beleive he tried to influence them to being accepted into society and thus cure them.
Also, I wouldnt suggest that I was a catholic, simply because I feel that if I was stuck in a desert for a while, I MIGHT hear voices and attribute them to the voice of God, but I'm NO St. Paul...I was speaking to a friend whose doing his Phd in clinical physcology, and he suggested that the reason there havent been many new religions these days is because most "profits" like Jesus and Mohammed would find themselves hooked up to prozac and shunted into a hospital's physccology department.
