I was gonna reply that I didn't think there were enough stupid Americans to vote Hillary for President.......but then I remembered that they voted Obama in.........twice.......Oh Well!!!!!!

They were FAR more stupid in voting for Reagan and the two Bush's.

Just compare the economy situations. ;)

no sorry Walter upon further research I was wrong about co-authoring...take Nancy out of the equation...it's Nancy's son with Ron.

"My Father at 100", written by Ron, Reagan's natural son with Nancy.

none the less...he says he was showing clear signs of dementia early on...and as I said: "Does it really matter"

but I think to people such as yourself it would

to me, not so much

no, that's me...

according to his son, it began much earlier but then in my experience it does...people with dementia KNOW at the outset that it is happening and they become masters at cover up (fear will do that) and it happens to the best of us

when they first accessed my mum at the nursing homing they thought she was okey dokey....and according to their tests she was...I who was close to her and impartial already knew they were wrong

I didn't say anything and it took them quite some time to figure it out...experts aren't also so expert...we know our own bodies and we know our own minds and we know the habits and abilities of those closest to us if we can step back and be honest...that however is rare I find

and thus with Reagan...I would trust his son's judgement over a doctor any day

I am also certain Nancey would have known...would she have "told" of course not...I didn't

thanks... I know it isn't just in the States that people are falling to the right. I know Canada is leaning that way too. The thing is, it's hard for me to judge because one can not access the average Canadian via most in here who lean so heavily toward the right they make republicans such as yourself look like republican-lite.
LEd to me but still thinks it's morally wrong to let people starve to death or suffer medically...but he is a hippy compared to most in here.

I have never been in a forum so right tilted. Even the American forums where I used to post are far more balanced.

I know you lean republican so I trust your assessment to be mostly impartial since I would access you to be pro human rights.
the people who lean more to the left are not so outspoken and critical and also because the democrats are
in power makes the republicans panicky and in a frenzy trying to roast the left over and over, it is
fear that they might not again' win the election, the democrats are more relaxed, what is the old saying
that is very very true 'LESS IS MORE'.

I also can't tell by those around me since most of my friends would be fiscally conservative but uber left socially (they have hearts)...except for my guy who leans pretty right compared to me but still thinks it's morally wrong to let people starve to death or suffer medically...but he is a hippy compared to most in here.

Don't quote me on any of this because I've been known to be wrong on occasion BUT from years of observation I have a sense that right winged people (hate those terms) may be more realistic while left wingers are more likely dreamers. J.M.H.O.

Bernie Sanders told Jeb Bush to go pound sand on social security.

In no uncertain terms Sanders reiterated his stance that "NO we will not cut Social Security."

This has been Sanders stance that payments from Social Security should be increased by raising the FICA cap.

What that means is that if you are making 118,000 dollars a year, you are paying into the system at the same rate as a guy making 10,000,000 a year.

It bares repeating that Social Security is not in crisis and that merely raising the FICA cap for individuals making 1,000,000 or even 250,000 a year then the program that has lifted generations out of poverty in their old age will be solvent for future generations.

I have a hard time understanding what world Gov. Bush and his billionaire backers live in,” Bernie said after Jeb Bush told an interviewer that he thought the Social Security retirement age should be raised.

“We need to look over the horizon and begin to phase in (an increase in the retirement age over an extended period of time),” said Bush, “going from 65 to 68 or 70.” With those words, Bush seemed to suggest that the current retirement age is 65. It is currently 66, and is scheduled to rise to 67 for people born in 1959 and afterwards.

“It is unacceptable to ask construction workers, truck drivers, nurses and other working-class Americans to work until they are 68 to 70 years old before qualifying for full Social Security benefits,” Bernie said in response this week, adding:

“Jeb Bush’s plan to raise the retirement age is just a continuation of the war that is being waged by the Republicans against working-class Americans in order to reward billionaires on Wall Street,” Bernie said, noting:

“When the average Social Security benefit is just $1,328 a month, and more than one-third of our senior citizens rely on Social Security for virtually all of their income, our job must be to expand benefits, not cut them.”

there's realism and then there is just heartless conclusion that creatives massive problems long term...there are dreamers and then there are the delusional with big mouths and lots of energy...big difference on both sides...what really has to happen is the extremes on both sides need to disappear...they are dangerous not helpful and destructive to lives, and health and our country

I have no patience for them nor any respect they are wrong most of the time and way too emotional

Items in this evening's news indicated Jeb plans on making his announcement to run for the GOP nomination.

Can't wait for those Republican debates to begin to see them tear each other apart.

You're probably right but I'm sure these people are just as convinced about their beliefs as you and I are about ours and convincing them they are wrong may be a bit of a chore.

No- that they are dreamers.

but my point was that you are wrong on occasion, could be about anything, had
nothing to do with democrats.

dreamers are the extreme of a type, don't think they would fit into any political party,
and definitely not republicans, they are delusional and aggressive, extreme religion, and all about the wealthy.

the democrats do happen to recognize that there is a working class and people in need and also
the wealthy, they take in all levels, and recognize religious believers and those
who choose not to believe.

no one can be convinced of anything without an open mind

it's a learning process and beyond the ability of many after a certain age or their decision to stay stuck
actually that is fairly human, people stay stuck in certain belief systems because it was a belief that worked successfully for them at some point...even when the belief is no longer of value to them and even if it becomes a detriment many will cling to it

Just heard on the news that Jeb is now officially a G.O.P. candidate. Now I'm wondering how many fickle people will prejudge him by his brother's or father's performance. It's often a huge mistake to judge anyone by his siblings or parents or any other relative. Jeb, apparently had a good record in Florida.
