Yeah, I don't get that either. The Green Party has a better fiscal policy than the GOP.

Hmm... I just had a bizzare thought. What if the Dems are infiltrating the GOP with crazy right-wing radicals, in order to make them look bad?
Isn't that what Harper is did?

Then they're twisted f***s.

Makes ya feel good huh? No respect for people who had no choice in going into battle and then were treated like ****e by one of their own who had position. Not to mention how they were treated in their home towns, that was the most disgusting thing i ever saw. Appears you liked it.

War was fought for the assumed vast continental oil reserves of the South China Sea.

Regardless of the reasons, my point is about how the soldiers have been treated. Apparently many of you people are instantly sorry for someone your own age but......

I wasn't alive.

But the notion that they'd happily shoot her over her politics.... if it's true, they're twisted ****s.

It's a lot better these days. I get "Thank you for your service" a lot.

I usually answer "I got paid."

There are a great many Vietnam Vets who were and are Democrats who would pull a trigger in the direction of Ms perfect in a heartbeat. Hollywood is about money only, not reality.

Actually there were a great many antiwar veterans who marched with her:

And remember that many of the antiwar activists from that era are now Republicans on the chickenhawks list.

I am not dealing with political affirmation at all, just common sense, which seems to be in short supply with the large number of peeps who allow Hollywood to make their decisions for them.
Jane Fonda tells veterans boycotting her movie 'The Butler' to 'get a life' | Fox News

Dunno that this answers your post but when you say 'common sense" bear in mind that the USA's combat role was already over at the time that she took that infamous photo. Furthermore, the vast majority of war veterans, like the vast majority of Americans from every stripe, were opposed to the war. So that while many critics attack her for her indiscretion it was antiwar agitation of people like her that ultimately saved Americans from needless death in an unjust war.

You won't mention how the anti war types treated the soldiers, easy to forget isn't it, or are you too young? Very interesting, I was alive during WW11 and was just a bit too young for the Korean fuss but my Dad was in both. I personally witnessed things that most people now would call me a liar for repeating. For those of us who saw things from a 60-70 year old vantage point, we simply cannot imagine the attitude of those who are running things now but we understand what hiding history is all about.

Hiding history? I was of draft age during the war - offered to enlist but failed the physical exam four times. My buddies who returned from the war were treated very well by those of us from the ghetto. Jane Fonda, like those returning vets who agitated against the war, were viewed as heroes for trying to save lives. This is something forgotten by the wars apologists, again, many of whom are on that chickenhawks list.
