Ailments and defects have been known to take most of the fun out of most leisure activities after the body is 'old'. It is the very old that fear death the least, for that very reason. Being told I was beyond repair by somebody else would not get the same emotional response as me telling me I was ready to be scrapped..

That being said if the 'cure' is something I cab arrange then I would probably do it. You can tell how many strokes Chaney had while in office by counting the number of tours he took of subs. Deep down you would have high pressure and that is supposed to be good for rejuvenating muscles after they have been without 02.
My limit would be seeing if air pressure changes on the outer eye would flex the eye into a new shape that would eliminate corrective lenses using the Bate's Eye Care protocols.

I'm getting up there some. I've been a hard worker all my adult life doing woodworking primarily and have been fortunate enough to always be in good health. Now, my body is changing. From spine problems to a dvt in my right leg. Is it uncomfortable?. Yeah. I take pills now for the pain and sometimes it gets intense. Is it hell? Naw. Not really. Life has still got simple pleasures regardless of the health problems. My mind is still sharp relatively speaking and I do enjoy playing pool and slot machines so, I'll tolerate the doctor visits and tests and all the medicine. It isn't hell yet,

Getting old does suck but as mentioned even with limited dexterity and mostly spent verve it beats the alternative. As our odometer accumulates fear of the inevitable declines unless we have an ailing partner then our fear lingers because we want to be around to keep them at home as long as possible. Dementia is an insidious disease heart breaking to witness and the spectre of a loved one getting dumped in a long term care facility if we expire haunts.
Don't know about the rest of canada but here in niagara region most long term care facilities are not places you'd like your partner to spend their last days, some are excellent but wait times for those few are seldom survivable.
Dementia victims are not aware of the inenvitable thus dodge any angst but pay a premium price in the present.

Yeah there's really nothing to fear. When You're young maybe you think about croaking and it scares you but after middle age it doesn't really matter much anymore. That's speaking for me. There is the pain you're not looking forward to but there are meds for that.
