It does indeed. Let's define it.
I'll start. The alt-left, as opposed to the left, is characterised by the following positions:
1. Identifying people by the groups to which they belong, as assigned by the alt-left (e.g., Black, White, women, trans, FN (Native), etc.
2. Opposition to financial reward for producing substantial financial gain. Strong tendency toward "equalizing outcomes."
3. Support of "equalizing" laws based on government-mandated special treatment of the groups to which one is assigned and the past treatment of those groups (obviously, emphasizing the disadvantages of those groups).
4. Confidence in and support of government regulation and intrusion at all levels, provided it is in service of alt-left goals.
5. Equal or more equal distribution of resources, untethered from one's role in producing those resources (i.e., money).
6. Government control of the distribution of resources.
7. Use of government power to suppress "undesirable" ideas.
8. Presentation of the following characteristics as inherently evil: Caucasian, Christian, male, heterosexual, above-median family income.
Anything else?
NB: I'll be happy to work with anybody who wants to develop a consensus definition of the "alt-right" as wel.
