Give us more info about the child and her parents. I do not have a problem with the simple fact of transgender, i do have a problem with no proof, just like the border guards. I also have a problem with queers taking up causes with no actual information about them.

Whats more, apparently on this forum we have a few with reading comprehension problems. If you believe that a ten year old isn't capable of making a major decision, like sex reversal surgery, then why the hell would you be against the person having the option like those in Ontario, to declare their gender without a major and invasive surgery? If a ten year old identifies as a boy, and then changes his mind when they're older, well then it's a hell of a lot easier physically and mentally when there wasn't a surgery complicating matters.

Gender identity IS an issue that patients say arises in toddlerhood, and perseveres through puberty. It's not a 'decision' made at adulthood. If it were, counselors would tell people to change their fool minds back and not attempt to morph their bodies into the opposite gender.
I feel for this person. I think it's sad to consider life dysmorphic in any way shape or form. Not feeling at home in your own body.
But, that being said, I think calling yourself a girl when pat downs and security scanners will quickly show you're not, opens you up to just as much strife as having boy on the passport does. Despite the fact that normally it falls into the realm of nobody's business but those you choose to talk to about it, it seems to me that for traveling having a designation of 'gender transitioning' would make more sense and removed the need for a lot of unnecessary questioning, although it might be less PC.
