The expression sons of Israel is used many times in the Quran.

So the expression 'sons of Israel' implies: Your father Jacob or Israel was righteous and Godfearing, why don't you be like him?
In fact, you have become devils and God's enemies instead of becoming righteous people with good manners and kindness to people.

So Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Prophet Abraham, was lauded in the Quran, like this aya in the Quran 12: 68, which means:
([Jacob] possessed a knowledge which We taught him, but most people do not know [the truth.])

They think that God loves and prefers them to other nations, but this is incorrect. God loves the righteous, whether of the Israelites or of others, and He dislikes the hard-hearted and transgressors of any origin.

For this reason, Jesus Christ condemned the Israelites who believed they were the sons of the Prophet Abraham, and so they engaged in every evil work and transgressed against people and plundered their rights.

Thus do We reward those [of your nation, O Mohammed,] that are kind.)
