Was that because he was on a civilian plane rather than you have to be on a military plane or it is an act of war by Canada using civilian craft to transport said weapon? Germany sunk a Cruise Liner because it was being used to supply the enemy with arms. What is the difference??
It appears your search for Syrian in the news missed a few headlines.
Exposed: Israel’s secret assistance of Syrian rebels – Unreported Today
Earlier,
when discussing why the Syrian “rebels” fighting Assad are in “turmoil”, we said that as a result of the ongoing Qatar crisis the various Saudi and Qatari supply chains supporting the rebels, both in terms of weapons and funding, had dried up due to the diplomatic fallout involving Qatar and Saudi Arabia. “Together with Turkey and the United States, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been major sponsors of the insurgency, arming an array of groups that have been fighting to topple Syria’s Iran-backed president.”
We concluded that “the rebellion against Assad now seems moot, which is why the most likely outcome is a continued phase-out of support for forces fighting the Syria government until eventually the situation reverts back to its pre-2011 “status quo.”
That, however, may have been premature as it was missing a key piece of data, one which was just
revealed by the WSJ and which many had suspected.
According to the Journal, Israel and Saudi Arabia have been alligned from the onset of the Syrian conflict, “
with Israel supplying Syrian rebels near its border with cash as well as food, fuel and medical supplies for years, a secret engagement in the enemy country’s civil war aimed at carving out a buffer zone populated by friendly forces.”
The Israeli army is in regular communication with rebel groups and its assistance includes undisclosed payments to commanders that help pay salaries of fighters and buy ammunition and weapons, according to interviews with about half a dozen Syrian fighters. Israel has established a military unit that oversees the support in Syria—a country that it has been in a state of war with for decades—and set aside a specific budget for the aid, said one person familiar with the Israeli operation.

According to information from sources in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) the United States has delivered a seventh round of heavy weapons and armored vehicles to the forces.
"In the framework of the operation for the liberation of Raqqa the US has sent us armored vehicles and weapons, including mortars, thermal missiles, heavy machine guns, semi-automatic and automatic rifles, night vision binoculars and demining facilities,” a source who chose to remain anonymous told Sputnik Turkey.
He further said that the armament and armored vehicles arrived in 90 wagons and were delivered overland through the territory of Northern Iraq to the border post Semelka and further to Rojave (a Syrian Kurdish territory).
“From there the weapons supply was delivered to Tabka. This time we received a significant number of armored cars. We are experiencing a great need for them, because at present there are fierce clashes between our forces and the terrorists of Daesh in three districts of Raqqa,” the source said.

TASS: World - US-led coalition says hostile actions of Syrian pro-regime forces will not be tolerated
WASHINGTON, July 19. /TASS/. The US-led coalition conducting operations against the Islamic State terror group (outlawed in Russia - TASS) will not tolerate the hostile actions of pro-regime forces toward its own and partner forces in Syria, the coalition’s headquarters said in a statement provided to TASS.
The statement confirmed that on June 18, a US F/A-18E aircraft had shot down a Syrian Su-22 bomber jet which, according to the coalition, had "dropped bombs near SDF (the Syrian Democratic Forces - TASS) fighters south of Tabqah." Before the incident, the coalition’s aircraft "conducted a show of force and stopped the initial pro-regime advance toward the SDF-controlled town."
"The Coalition presence in Syria addresses the imminent threat ISIS in Syria poses globally. The demonstrated hostile intent and actions of pro-regime forces toward Coalition and partner forces in Syria conducting legitimate counter-ISIS operations will not be tolerated," the statement adds.
US Intervention in Syria at Crossroads
The U.S. military incursion into Syria is literally at a crossroads, with U.S.-backed forces cut off at Al-Tanf where two strategic highways intersect and where President Trump may decide to escalate, says Daniel Lazare.

The U.S. has stumbled into a trap in the Syrian desert town of Al-Tanf, and the big question now is whether it will stay, leave, or try to save face by putting on a show of force. Given the crisis mentality in Washington these days, the answer is likely the last. If so, the effect will be to take a bad situation and make it much, much worse.
