If you look though the BNP's Manifesto, there's not doubt that it's a racially, nationally and ethnically prejudice party. It is also xenophobic, isolationist, and nationalist.
To our surprise though, it's brand of nationalism is what we might call universal indigenous ethnicism, whereby the BNP expresses no interest in imperial conquest and places a high emphasis on respect for local cultures, be they English, Welsh, Scots, Ulster, etc. within Britain, and an opposition to poaching human resources from developing countries, following a kind of 'don't help them, but don't hurt them either' attitude.
If we read the BNP's policies on immigration, though I am opposed to much of it and even offended by some of it, I still can't deny that the BNP still acknowledges the humanity of immigrants and that their rights ought to be respected too, even if the BNP wants them to leave.
On the military front, again, though I find the BNP to be excessively isolationist, I do admire the idea that it intends to keep its military within its borders and not be lap dogs to the US. Though I'm for alliances myself an do believe in the idea of a 'just war' in aid to a weaker allied country, I also believe that non-involvement is still the next best thing to that, so if a country will not be fighting any just wars, then if it at least abstains from any unjust war, that alone is already something.
Now don't get me wrong here. Owing to the racial and nationalist prejudices of the BNP, I'd be hard pressed to support it. To be fair to the BNP though, I'd say that though many of its views are ignorant in my opinion, I must also acknowledge that they are well-intentioned, and that the BNP is nothing like the fascist party many make it out to be. In fact, on closer observation, many opponents of the BNP would be shocked to find that they share many views in common with other parties too.
