The 300-strong mob of Muslim men in rural Egypt also burned down seven homes belonging to Orthodox Coptic families, over rumours of an affair between a local Christian man and a Muslim woman

A 70-year-old Christian woman has been stripped naked, beaten and paraded through the streets by a mob of around 300 Muslim men in a village in southern Egypt.

The mob also burned down seven homes belonging to Christian families, according to an unusually outspoken statement issued by the local Orthodox Coptic church, after rumours circulated in the village that a Christian man was having a relationship with a Muslim woman.

The violence started at around 8pm on 20 May, and the local diocese said it was two hours before police responded, by which point the mob had already dispersed.

Christianity is the most persecuted religion on Earth, with a lot, if not most, of the perpetrors being Muslims. This is just another example of it.

Both Christians and Muslims are persecuted by Islamists.


For me, there's a difference between being a Muslim and being an Islamist. Muslims who practice their religion properly are upstanding individuals and I'm proud to know some. Islamists believe in a twisted version of the Muslim faith; they're psychopathic, misogynistic murderers. Big difference as far as I'm concerned.

Such bravery and tolerance. Only 300 men to beat up one old woman.In days gone by the crowd would be several thousand and they would have murdered a number of people.

Well, Princess and Walter are all whiny and butthurt that I pointed out the simple truth: far, far more Muslims than Christians are being killed, brutalized, rendered homeless, starved, tortured, and so on, in their stupid sectarian battles.

Nope, it's not. On an international scale, it is the Christians who are the world's most persecuted religious group, and this persecution is mainly from Muslims.
Jews are the second most persecuted religious group in the world. In 2009, anti-Semitic incidents around the world more than doubled over the previous year. The growing anti-Semitism around the world, particularly in the West, is coming from the growing number of Muslims.
As for the sectarian violence in the Mid-East, it's simply a continuation of the internecine warfare that has infected the region since before the advent of Islam.

OK, so any strife between Muslims and Christians or Jews is religious, regardless of other factors, and any inter-Muslim strife, even if it's specifically one sect attacking another over their beliefs, is not religious.

See? By "creatively" defining your terms, you can make literally anything true!

No, it's been amply demonstrated that much of the sectarian violence follows along the same lines as the internecine warfare prior to Islam. IE; it's still pretty much the same tribal groups fighting each other as there always was. Remove religion from the equation in the Mid-East and the same tribal groups would still be at each other's throats.


And of course we must not forget, since Islamic violence/terrorism apparently has nothing to do with religion (or so the progtards keep telling us), Muslim on Muslim violence can't possibly be about religious persecution.

I have never seen such a group that is so clueless as this place can provide. Christian and Muslims are both under persecution yet the 'conclusion of the smart ones here' is that they are doing it to themselves, plain and simple.
The truth is a bit different, time for people to grow the fuk up.
