Anywho…Muddled East, etc…Canada and allies say in a joint statement they are willing to “contribute to appropriate efforts” to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing war in Iran.

In a statement co-signed with the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan, the nations “call for an immediate comprehensive moratorium on attacks on civilian infrastructure, including oil and gas installations.”

“We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning,” the statement reads.

The nations do not specify what actions may be taken.

The statement comes days after U.S. President Donald Trump ordered demanded called upon NATO and other U.S. allies to help secure the Strait from Iranian attacks.
The U.S. State Department on Thursday approved potential arms sales to ‌three Middle East countries worth more than $16.5 billion as the war with Iran intensifies.

The State Department approved the potential sale of missiles, drones, radar systems and F-16 munitions and upgrades to the United Arab Emirates for a combined total of more than $8.4 billion, it said in statements.

Also approved were possible sales of lower-tier air and missile defense sensor radars to Kuwait for an estimated cost of $8 billion and aircraft and munitions support to Jordan for ‌an estimated cost of $70.5 million.

The sales follow Iran's attacks on energy infrastructure in response to Israeli attacks on its gas facilities, which marked the biggest escalation of the nearly three-week war, causing gas prices to surge and oil prices to rise further.🤔

The State Department said the principal contractors in the sales will include RTX Corporation (RTX.N), Northrop Grumman (NOC.N) and Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT.N).

President Donald Trump said Friday that the United States was considering "winding down" military operations against Iran but was not seeking a ceasefire with the Islamic republic.

Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei meanwhile claimed in a message to mark the first day of the Persian New Year to have delivered a "dizzying blow" to enemies in the three-week-old Middle East war.

Fresh blasts hit Tehran on Friday and Israel accused Iran of attacking holy sites in Jerusalem after a strike left a crater in the Old City near the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

On Wall Street, stocks ended sharply lower after oil prices shot up on fears that lengthy supply disruptions could lead to a global economic downturn.

All three major indices were firmly in the red, with the broad-based S&P 500 down 1.5 percent and the price of Brent crude, the international benchmark, rising 3.3 percent to $112.19 per barrel.

Happy Festivus Friday to Everyone!!

Turkey lashed out at Israel meanwhile for striking Syrian army camps in southern Syria, calling it a "dangerous escalation" and urging the international community to intervene. On March 20th, 2026, so today, Israel explicitly reported striking Syrian army camps in southern Syria in response to alleged attacks on the Druze community in Sweida.

Syria has so far avoided being dragged into the regional war that began on February 28 when Israel and the United States began striking Iran, which has hit back by firing ballistic missiles and drones at countries across the region.

Lebanon has also been targeted by Israeli airstrikes against Iranian ally Hezbollah which have left more than 1,000 people dead according to the Lebanese health ministry.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social, said the United States was "getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East"?
1774053761990.jpeg
The social media post was the strongest indication yet from the US president that he may be prepared to soon end hostilities, without a ceasefire, meaning what exactly?

It came shortly after Trump told reporters at the White House that he was not looking for a truce.

"I think we have won," (?) Trump said. "I don't want to do a ceasefire. You know you don't do a ceasefire when you're literally obliterating the other side." (?????)

In his post, Trump said other nations will have to take responsibility for securing the Strait of Hormuz shipping lane, which has effectively been blockaded by Iran and which sees a fifth of global crude oil and liquefied natural gas pass through it in peacetime.

1774056371684.jpeg"The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it -- The United States does not!" he said. "If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn't be necessary once Iran's threat is eradicated."
1774057004520.jpeg
Trump also said the United States wants to talk to Iran but "there's nobody to talk to" because of the killing of Iran's former supreme leader and other top officials.

Iran's new supreme leader has not appeared in public since being named to succeed his father, Ali Khamenei.

In a written statement to mark Nowruz, the Persian New Year, Mojtaba Khamenei said Iranians have "dealt him (the enemy) a dizzying blow so that he now starts uttering contradictory words and nonsense".
1774057115044.jpeg
"At the moment, due to the particular unity that has been created between you our compatriots -- despite all the differences in religious, intellectual, cultural and political origins -- the enemy has been defeated," Khamenei said.

The statement of defiance came as Iranians marked a muted Nowruz punctuated by the sound of loud blasts in eastern and northern Tehran.

Shoppers were out in force buying new clothes and gifts, although pavements were less packed than usual for this time of year, with many people having fled north.

So, uh…yeah. Ok then.🙄 Is Trump conceding defeat while claiming victory? Then bugging out to leave the globe to clean up after him? Is that what we’re seeing?

Trump: "US-UK relationship was the best until Starmer came along"

United States is still angry at Britain for feeble support in Iran war

USA says Britain should exploit North Sea oil and condemns Britain for damaging her beautiful countryside by installing wind turbines

US President Donald Trump launches a new attack on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for ruining a "tremendous” relationship between the US and UK, claiming it was “the best”.

“We have a tremendous, long-term relationship with the UK. I mean, people would say it's the best,” Mr Trump (who is half-British) said.

“We've had the longest, the oldest, and should be the best. Always was the best until Keir came along.”

Trump, whose mother was British, is clearly an Anglophile and wants a close relationship with Britain but it's also clear he's not a fan of Prime Minister Starmer. He's longing for his friend Nigel Farage to win the next General Election.

Trump also attacked Britain for ruining her countryside by installing wind turbines instead of using North Sea gas.

It's like the United States is critical of a friend and giving it advice to lead a happier life....

Speaking of our wonderful friendship. . . the Jeep brand currently has an advert running that allegedly shows the Boston Tea Party in 1773.

Problem is, the protesters/vandals/revolutionaries aren't disguised as Indians, and the ship is flying a 50-star American flag.

Historical illiterates.

Israel launched fresh strikes on Tehran and Beirut on Saturday after US President Donald Trump said he was considering "winding down" military operations against Iran following three weeks of war.

After Iranian missile fire at Israel overnight, the Israeli military said it had carried out strikes on what it called "regime targets" in Iran's capital, which has been under bombardment since a US-Israeli attack started the war on February 28.

The latest barrage came as Trump signalled a retreat from the objective of regime change in Iran and the Treasury Department lifted sanctions on Iranian oil already at sea to ease global supply fears.

However, US media reported Friday that Washington was deploying thousands of Marines to the Middle East, in a possible sign of a coming ground operation?

(While President Trump has publicly stated he has no immediate plans for a ground war, the accelerated deployment of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group indicates preparations for potential direct military action)

Trump told reporters he was not looking for a truce because Washington was "obliterating" Iran? Yesterday it was “obliterated” (different tense) Irans military capability?

Beyond the Gulf, the war has spread to Lebanon where the Israeli military has carried out regular bombardments in response to rocket fire by Iran ally Hezbollah.

The Israeli military said it launched a wave of strikes against "Hezbollah terrorist organisation targets" in the Lebanese capital early Saturday.

In southern Lebanon, close to the border, state media reported an "extensive" Israeli operation around the town of Khiam and said an Israeli airstrike killed at least one person.

In Iraq, which neighbours Iran and has been drawn into the war, a strike killed a fighter at a military airfield in the country's north, with his group blaming the US and Israel.

As concerns grow over oil prices and global supply shortages, the US Treasury said it was temporarily lifting sanctions on Iranian oil already loaded onto vessels. The authorisation allows for the delivery and sale of Iranian crude oil and other petroleum products loaded onto ships before March 20 (= yesterday) and will last through April 19. (4 weeks, Friday to Friday)

(The Marine deployments follow military strikes on Iranian infrastructure and are designed to exert pressure, with officials weighing operations to cripple Iran's main oil exporting point, Kharg Island, which handles roughly 90% of its crude exports)

"By temporarily unlocking this existing supply for the world, the United States will (?) quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, expanding the amount of worldwide energy and helping to relieve the “temporary” pressures on supply," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.

As energy analysts and consumers count the cost of attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Gulf, including the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub, Trump slammed NATO allies as "cowards" and demanded ordered called on them to secure the Strait of Hormuz, which has been described as a “kill box” that the American Navy won’t enter.

Iran has choked the channel crucial for around a fifth of the world's crude oil and liquefied natural gas during peacetime. "The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it -- The United States does not!" he said.

"I may have a plan or I may not," Trump said when asked by an AFP reporter.

Judaize the Litani': Under Cover of War, Israel's Right-wing Camp Pushes to Expand Borders – and Settle Lebanon

Israel is escalating its military campaign in southern Lebanon, with officials and right-wing elements discussing the creation of a "sterile," settler-occupied buffer zone extending to the Litani River. This strategy, utilizing large-scale evacuations, mirrors tactics used for de facto annexation in the West Bank. Fears are growing of a prolonged occupation, with over one million people already displaced by the offensive.

Key Aspects of the Expansion Strategy:
Targeting the Litani River: Israel has ordered residents in southern Lebanon to evacuate behind the Litani River.
"Sterile" Buffer Zones: Israeli officials have mentioned creating a "sterile zone" in southern Lebanon, drawing parallels to territory managed by military control in other regions.

Settler Pressure: Right-wing groups are capitalizing on the war to advocate for expanding borders and establishing settlements, similar to actions taken in the occupied West Bank.
Humanitarian Crisis: The offensive has displaced more than one million people, creating immense pressure on regional infrastructure.

Long-Term Goals: While officially aimed at security, the strategy has raised concerns about a deeper, long-term, or permanent presence in Lebanon.

Contextual Factors:
Israel has recently expanded its powers to facilitate land acquisition by settlers in the West Bank.
The ongoing conflict has seen significant destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

The expansionist strategy is being compared to the ongoing, systematic annexation of Palestinian land.

What’s your guess here? Deployed before Flip-Flop flip-flopped last (?) Something else? Bullshit like “the boats have to be parked somewhere” back in early February?
"I may have a plan or I may not," Trump said when asked by an AFP reporter.
Some lip service to “stabilize” commodity prices?
"By temporarily unlocking this existing supply for the world, the United States will (?) quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, expanding the amount of worldwide energy and helping to relieve the “temporary” pressures on supply," Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.
That’s about 30 hours of global oil consumption. Something like this above that’s supposed to help stabilize commodity prices (?) by “temporarily” lifting sanctions on Iranian oil that’s already on the water in boats (?) but for only four weeks?
As energy analysts and consumers count the cost of attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Gulf, including the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub, Trump slammed NATO allies as "cowards" and demanded ordered called on them to secure the Strait of Hormuz, which has been described as a “kill box” that the American Navy won’t enter.

Iran has choked the channel crucial for around a fifth of the world's crude oil and liquefied natural gas during peacetime.
???? The Strait was open February 27th, then Iran closed it March 2nd for some unknown & unexpected reason then???? During ‘peacetime’.
"The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it -- The United States does not!" he said.
The United States does not…what?
