I took my grandson to watch this latest episode of the Indiana Jones saga last night. We enjoyed the movie even though, like most movies this year, the special effects were somewhat overdone. The storyline was a typical George Lucas offering with plenty of bad guys and lots of action. I would certainly recommend this movie. Indiana Jones fans will not be disappointed.

I saw it too and liked it overall.

However, it was not my favorite of the four; my favorite is still Raiders of the Lost Ark. I think the Crystal Skull story was a little too convoluted; much could have been taken out that did not contribute to furthering the story.

The movie also included a few teasers that make me wonder (and hope) that more Indiana Jones movies might be produced in the future. For example, Indiana Jones seemed to know quite a lot about the Crystal Skull, as if he had been the one who originally found it. Perhaps there would be another movie about that adventure. How many other adventures has he had without sharing them with movie-goers? I am sure there are still many more movies that could be made. Personally, it doesn't matter to me whether they include Harrison Ford, George Lucas, or Stephen Spielberg; I just like adventure movies about ancient mysteries and artifacts.

If I had any complaint, it would have been that they moved the movie to far into the present. The original story was set in the thirties/early forties, and Iindiana Jones was already a college professor in the first movie. By now he would be in his eighties or nineties. It loses a bit when they are nor faithful to the original story.

So a typical George Lucas story filled with holes and things that don't match up to the last one?

Not surprising.

Other similar films appeared after the first and second films. They Was serie B films, with sort budgets and little argument, for example the mummy and others
This last film has remember me this older serie B films. I think that the last Indiana Jones isn't in the same league as the other saga films.

to me it looked like it was in the early fifties, the look of the mock town with all the manequins standing around and an a-bomb test plus his now fully grown son 18 or 19 so that would be twenty years after the last one he did. I thought it was pretty close.
I'm a nitpicker at movies, my ex hated that.

What? Subtitled Australian movies? Last I checked, they spoke English too, just a little differently.
