Well, I could be wrong, but I think they might both be nuclear powers.
India attacked nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir on Wednesday with at least three deaths reported, and Pakistan said it was mounting a response as the worst fighting in years erupted between the longstanding enemies. Good times.

The Russia/Ukraine & Hamas/Iran/Israel things where getting passé anyway, so did anyone have this on their Bingo cards? I thought China/Taiwan/Philippines was suppose to be next?

India's offensive occurred amid heightened tensions in the aftermath of an attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month. Islamist assailants killed 26 men in the April 22 attack, the worst such violence targeted at civilians in India in nearly two decades.

Pakistan said India launched missiles at three places, but an Indian government statement did not detail the nature of the strikes. India said it struck "terrorist infrastructure" where attacks against it were planned and directed.
Well, odds are more than good that any footage coming out of there is going to have a crazy soundtrack to it!!!

Maybe send Jagmeet over to negotiate. I hear he's got free time these days.
Jagmeet isn’t allowed into India. Seriously.

Trudeau has his wardrobe trunks, so maybe he’s available? He probably has some Pakistani costumes, whatever they wear ceremonially 200yrs ago…& he can meditate…while lecturing them on gender roles…& carbon taxes?

YouTube & The conflict in Kashmir, explained (this is a 6yr old video).
YouTube & India and Pakistan Are On the Brink of War (this was posted a week ago, & contains info up to May 28th).

Resentment between India and Pakistan dates to 1947, when Hindu-majority India gained independence from British colonial rule and Muslim-majority Pakistan was established as a separate state in a deadly partition in which at least an estimated million people were killed while migrating across the newly formed border.

The border lines were clearly defined and accepted except for the mountainous state of Jammu and Kashmir, which is among the most militarized places in the world. Both Pakistan and India lay full claim to it, but most of it is Indian-administered, while Pakistan controls a small chunk to the west.

Well, we’re almost 24hrs into this thread and nobody (until me now) has mentioned anyone popping in the streets on either side of the border, so I’m impressed by that alone already.

Speaking of borders, if your people cross a border to attack and execute civilians, I don’t think you should be able to plausibly play the victim role in a conflict, but that’s just me I guess.

I wouldn't worry too much about the China thing. Despite all their huffing and puffing, the fact remains that all their equipment is Made in China.

…&…A Chinese-made Pakistani fighter plane shot down at least two Indian military aircraft on Wednesday, two U.S. officials told Reuters, marking a potential major milestone for Beijing's advanced fighter jet.
The aerial clash is a rare opportunity for militaries to study the performance of pilots, fighter jets and air-to-air missiles in active combat, and use that knowledge to prepare their own air forces for battle.

Experts said the live use of advanced weapons would be analyzed across the world, including in China and the United States which are both preparing for a potential conflict over Taiwan or in the wider Indo-Pacific region.
Pakistan and India accused each other of launching drone attacks, and Islamabad's defence minister said further retaliation was "increasingly certain," on the second day of major clashes on Thursday. Two days of fighting killed nearly four dozen people.
The latest escalation in the decades-old India-Pakistan rivalry began on April 22 when Islamist militants killed 26 people in India-administered Kashmir in an attack that New Delhi blamed on Islamabad, which denied the accusations and called for a neutral probe.

I won’t have time to read this until later tonight, but is this confirmed now? It was… not so much confirmed initially.

When a sky news reporter asked the Pakistani minister of defence to confirm that, he said it was true because it was on social media.

There’s all kinds of weird shit on social media, but until it’s confirmed…
