Leno has been unfunny for year zero. I've never understood why people find him entertaining.

Johnny Carson used to come on at 11:00pm and the show would run for over 90 minutes. Back in the days when we had a TV guide I used to look and see who Carson had on and watch maybe three times during the week.

Steve Allen did the first Tonight Show and he passed it on to Jack Parr who changed it to the Jack Parr show and then it went to Carson as the Tonight show again. My point is that the transition to these different hosts was almost seamless. Leno doesn't fit the mold.
I was kind of surprised when they first gave the show to Leno. I don't like it when it seems he almost has to explain some of his jokes, if you get what I am referring to.

However he is still better than any of letterman's top ten lists.

All the current light-weights would be unable to kiss the shoes of former greats like Jack Paar, Johnny Carson etc., without reading their cue cards, with jokes written by underpaid slaves, far smarter than they.

Just look at jerks like Jon Stewart. Or that idiot from Scotland. Or Conan the Barbarian. Or that idiot with two ears from two different fathers.

And the worst and least talented of them is the gap-toothed idiot, Dave Letterman.

im watching it right now, and his skit of you be the nominee was pretty funny...

I like it when he walked into the guys apartment and said it looks like a bomb just went off in here, oh wait make that a bong just went off in here lol, and the rest were hilarious

BUT the rest of the show sucked, even that interview with morgan freeman

I don't find Leno all the time funny but I do remember why I have some big laffs on occasion with him....

When he does the ads in newspapers which are "screwed up" or "really strange"....it is fascinating to see what people print in paper these days and because it's printed it's there to go over and over again....(kinda like forums ahem)....hehe

Yeah, I go along with that. My only problem with Leno is that he doesn't seem to fit the mold of his predecessors on that show. If you look at Steve Allen, Jack Parr, and Johnny Carson, they all had a mildly self-effacing, almost gentle manner that neither Letterman or Leno can match.

Carson set the bar very high - as a matter of fact I don't know any comedian who comes close to him live, on television or film. He could sit there, no facial expression and bring everyone to tears of laughter.

My mom used to "feel sorry for his wife" having him around all the time and my dad would say: "which wife?" lol....

Hmmmmmm dyathink that comedy these days relies too much on the "obvious" rather than the smooth stuff?" More like The Three Stooges?

I've always preferred the humor I have to pause and think over because it comes from a more subtle place than from the guys to do sight gags...
