Unless a guy has a REALLY bad attitude, I don't think level of pay translates too closely to effort. If I have a valid reason for working, I pretty well have a set pace, if the money bothered me I would go back to the boss and tell him and if I didn't get satisfaction I would quit, sometimes you have reasons where quitting isn't an option but you don't take it out on the job and you don't whine about it.
Well, so much for the idea of getting more compensation for more responsibility then. Everyone should work for $6/hr.

Brampton... Damn, I remember that town - and the ride in a flower box to Montreal (courtesy of CN express and the natural brattiness of the five-year-old I was) Trust me.... There was a tearful reunion when Dad got there to pick us up
Flower box? Didn't have real seats? lol
One of the muscle car bunch I hung with was revamping his Cyclone one time. Still used the car, though. At one point he had an apple box for a driver's seat, a pair of vice grips for his steering wheel, and another pair for his shifter. Took his tranny apart and put it back together, but there were extra parts left over. Damned thing still worked, though.

They used to ship seeds and flowers from Georgetown via Brampton on CN Express boxcars - where Dad worked - in great big kid-sized boxes. The roller ride was fun. Better than a day as rail freight? Not so much. Ice cream and goodies in that strange place where they spoke another language wasn't so bad ... but Dad was pee'd when the Rapido got to Montreal.
lol. Fun for a kid, I guess.

Mock Ontario and Liberals all you want. Mocking's what you do best. It makes you feel big and powerful, so fill your boots.

Really, I must be the cause of Ontario's deficit too.. sad. Ontario is a great province to have been run into the ground like this.. Great Lakes, Fishing, Boneco Provincial Park, The Rideau Canal... very sad.

I wonder what will turn the tide.. more manufacturing industry moving to Ontario.. ???

Geez.... I was 5 in '61. I remember Purina and green trains and purple trains (tuscan, for purists)

There was a Purina ( I believe ) feed store next to the barber shop in 'downtown' Burks Falls, Ontario that I remember as a kid. I can still smell it in my mind's nose.

I made it to 3 by '61.

If you order a burger a certain way, they should make it that way. And if not, you politely ask them to make another. It is NOT acceptable to simply take off the wrong bits. That said, if you act like an asshole, you'll. Get lousy service.
Yeah, those fast food joints realise that the drive-throughs should be fairly speedy, but they do tend to let you know that whatever you order is what you should get whether it is straight off the menu or you want extra this and less of that.
Personally, I'm not crazy about my pickles in a burger so I ask for them on the side. If it comes inside the burger, I don't throw a hissy fit like Boomer seems to have done. I simply pay, find a spot I can sit, and then take the pickles out. Not a big deal. If it seems to be a habit with the joint to screw up my order, I simply quit going there rather than ranting.

So if you try and be polite, ask nicely for another to be made.. then you get insulted..
In a drive through? Seems to me that you were the one snivelling about people in drive throughs asking for special burgers or whatever while the people behind them have to wait. That's pretty considerate of you to keep getting the order done to your particular tastes when OTHERS ARE WAITING BEHIND YOU.

Seems to really be just this McDee's.. others where you have immigrants working they are nice.. this lady was white trash all the way.

Rude not just to me, but to the 3 guys behind me..
Didn't occur to you to mention it to the management then rather than throwing a hissy fit, I guess.

I used to do that, but after a while, I realized that if I'm paying for something, I should get what I paid for, not whatever they decided to give me instead.

I heard of one incident where a guy wrote "you deserve a brick today" on the one he threw through a McDonalds window
Customer dissatisfaction much? lol

Oh, I think so, too, but I can let one or two incidents pass without getting into a snit about it.

I agree with you where I can tell that they frigged it up. If they can slide the lettuce out, what difference does it make other than to try to prove a point? You're still getting what you paid for with no trace of the offending article.

Yep, that's the way sensible people act, Les, but obviously on this forum there is a shortage of sensible people at times, best just to ignore the stupidity!

Seems to me you bitch even when you get more than what you paid for!

I could see the complaint if they neglected to include the lettuce, but generally when you get something extra you keep your mouth shut. (Pull the lettuce out and drop it off at the food bank)

People who patronize Big Macs et al aren't too concerned that they aren't getting their money's worth when it comes to nutrition, so I can only assume their complaining about other ways they are getting screwed is no more than a bunch of whining and wanting to be heard about some trivial inconvenience. SUCK IT UP.

I see you take pride in your minimum wage job.. LOL

Only in BC do they have Unions for minimum wage **** jobs.. LOL

mayonnaise, no wonder you can only get a job at McDee's

I take pride in being polite to others, being considerate, nothing to do with wages at all.
I don't have patience in hearing someone call others 'stupid', that immediately reflects to
the person saying it, not to the persons they are referring to.

Of course I took a leave of that behavior replying to you, you had it coming, mayonnaise and all. lol

You just saved me again, Talloola LOL I think Einstein here is missing something important. If a job needs doing it has to be done, the wage is immaterial as is proved by the number of people taking pride in volunteer work they do. Not everything in life is about money. Anyway thanks for saving me from being rude to Einstein.

Uhuh. If I was getting min. wage I'd be doing just what the job description called for. At $20/hr, I might even do a bit more than just what the job called for.
Volunteering is my choice and I choose what I volunteer for, so compensation is also what I choose to get from the issue.

well for a minute, I though you were the manager. Would explain your anger issues.

Lol.....anger huh? No, no anger, just a healthy dislike for attitudes of superiority. Which apparently I'm not unique in holding. And I know, here's where rather than listening to what people have said about their view of your actions, you're going to instead slam me, mock me, attempt to gain some form of imagined dominance over me.... Make it about how your somehow 'better'. And I'll laugh some more.....be embarassed for you some more... And round and round we'll go. So I'll just bid you good day :)
