Ian McKellen to Officiate Patrick Stewart's Wedding to Girlfriend Sunny Ozell - UsMagazine.com

"Coolest wedding ever? In a scenario almost straight out of X-Men fan fiction, Magneto will marry his old friend/foe Professor X -- to the latter's fiancee, that is. Professor X portrayer Sir Patrick Stewart is set to tie the knot with Sunny Ozell, a New York-based jazz singer he's been dating since 2009 -- and when he does, the person who pronounces them husband and wife will be none other than the actor's X-Men costar Sir Ian McKellen, a.k.a. Magneto.

McKellen, 73, revealed the news during an appearance on the U.K.'s popular Jonathan Ross Show earlier this week. "I am going to marry Patrick," he announced. "Well, no -- how else do you put that? I am going to officiate at his wedding."

Asked how he's legally qualified to preside over the couple's nuptials, McKellen replied, laughing: "I don't know. But in Massachusetts, or in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married."

"I've done it once before, with two guys having a civil partnership," he added. "I was crying my eyes out."

For that ceremony, the Shakespearean-trained thespian -- also known to sci-fi fans as Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films -- donned a "rather fetching" white gown he bought in India. But he may go with something a little less conspicuous this time around. "You musn't upstage the bride," he quipped of Ozell, 35.

This will be the third marriage for Stewart, 72. He was previously wed to Sheila Falconer from 1966 to 1990, and to Wendy Neuss from 2000 to 2003.

McKellen and Stewart have played Magneto and Professor X in three X-Men films since 2000. They're set to reprise their roles in the upcoming prequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past."

Sir Patrick... You Dog.

Now before anybody starts with the age gap issue.... Patrick's pretty young for his age. I mean:

Might I suggest this ensemble?

The helmet really makes a fashion statement. Understated yet authoritarian. ;)

Never before have I heard of a celebrity wedding that I've been jealous I couldn't attend. My inner geek almost threw a fit when I first heard about this yesterday.
