Why has Attila and Ghengis been left out of the discussion, and I'm sure there are several million others whose names have been forgoten.

FINDER SAID
'cortez, I don't think you can really compair modern leaders realistically to those of even 60 years ago. They lived totally in a different age"

Finder I think you give mankind to much credit, the comparisons with the long dead is still valid, basic human
nature has not changed signifigantly since the begining, there has not been a cigarete papers worth of differance in human manipulation of human, the basic rules were arrived at eons ago and are still valid today. There have been changes of scale and speed but only to deliver the same old product, fear and greed. They did live in a different age but the tools and the objects to carve and shape are the same.

cortez; thanks, and yeah you are completely right. I know many on the left, right and centre think however by saying Hitler=Bush or Bush=Hitler is totally discredited, I think the expression comes from media frustrations when you are dealing with people like Bill O'reilly or some Bushite who can't seem to understand that even though some of Bush's tactics can be defeanded, by large many are a failure and the inability to see those failurers on the right are frustraiting for people on the left, centre and even the right who can see the problems. So yeah I don't discredit those people for just saying Bush=Hitler, usually the content of what they are saying are good. Of course then there are the loonies and conspicy theorists whom I take a much more critical or even skeptical look at.

On a side note I remember reading on moderate Muslim writer, I remember she was a female but she was really good and she was often quoted after 9/11 as the reaction to 9/11 was overly anti-muslim even for Bush and it had to be controled. Anyhow this moderate wrote how the Muslim world was traped in a cycle of conspircy theories over the west, capitalism and culture that were mainly untrue or based on truth but twisted to ridiculous extreme's and to which the muslim world by large and muslim people buy into these conspircies. I'd forgottien about her completely until my last post.

What a messed up thread.

First we got the celf-confessed Right Wing Nut Jar posting that Chavez is his hero. The contradictions there would fill a book. {An enemy of the bastion of conservatism, the USA, is not someone a conservative usually supports].

Then we got Chavez supporting nukes for Iran, and foozball here extending that to every nation , like Canada, who might be able to find any old excuse to nuke the USA. [over the NWPassage was one suggestion!]

Personally, and I know you don't care so don't mention it, I would like to see LESS nuke threats, and a reduction in fossil fuels emissions and economy. That leaves us with peacefull nukes for energy but only where no alternative energy supply is sufficient. Lots more can be done with the simple solar panel on every roof and windmills put up by investors and government.

Simple stuff, and I will tell you why its not being done:
Here [below] is a link to an article that explains how the Busheviks want HIGHER oil prices, and that is done simply by reducing the SUPPLY of crude oil, a common tactic.

Iraq was invaded and occupied so they would not be able to drive DOWN the price of crude by producing to capacity there.
“Operation Iraqi Liberation" = O.I.L. {see article for more!]

IRAN will be invaded for the same reason {as the article zooferguy posted told me, betwween the lines].

Karlin, I wonder about you man.

You're as severe as the rightwing nuts.

I like your interest in the environment and emancipating
us from fossil fuel dependency.

I find your conspiracy theories just as bad as I find the
extreme rightwing conspiracy theories.

I wonder if you are truly eclectic. Do you have the
wisdom to know which and when, or are you just a
leftwing version of a rightwing nutcase ???

I think you're poised to understand more before you
become as rigid as all the other nutcase ideologues.

Maybe I don't know you yet.

You deride both the right wing and the left wing and still don't even purport to support a centrist position. You appear to be a nut with no direction, that most useless of hardware a nut stripped of it's threads. You remind me of an artistic vulture circling the field of battle not careing what body you light on, satisfied to feed on the carnage. You have no ideology, only a fear of commitment, which you flog as the wisdom of being above the fray, beyond the ordinary, superior, elitest. Are you eclectic or are you just empty.

Personal attacks. Stop.

By the end of today, I will be coming along to temporarily lock all threads where I see personal attacks that have been posted since I placed my announcement. Looks as though I will be very busy locking threads, unless the lot of you can get a grip.

Cortez, I swear, I am going to frame your brilliant rants. :D

Jay, thank you for editing, but to your remark that people like DB. What's not to like? Have you ever carried on a conversation with him on a subject other than politics?

The more I think of it, the closer I get to a temporary shut-down of political threads. Maybe that way you'll all get to know each other on a different level.

Food for thought, speaking of which it is brekkie time.

I guess to prove my point I would actually have to go back and quote him, post after post, because if you don't know what I'm talking about, then I guess I'm getting a different copy of his posts than you.

I'll leave for a while so as you can rearrange things back into the "moderate left leaning board" that people are looking for. Funny though, if it is a declared left leaning board people should put that down in the rule books instead of pretending the board is a reflection of its membership.

You are not alone Cortez, I hate me and you and little birds and comic books and music and icecream and lollypops and bananas. What is more motivating self hate or self love?

self hate IS trully motivating
i mean how can you really hate anyone else if you dont FIRST have a real intense absolute hatred of yourself...
hate your neighbour as you would hate yourself..
