Re: RE: I love Hugo Chavez

i agree canadas record with respect to the first nations sucks a big one

but thats no reason not to come to the defense of our good comrade hugo when he is being bashed so visciously by the americans--- who strangely enough think THEY are being unfairly bashed

Chavez has taken many leaps and bounds for the poor people in Venezuela, it's his radical leanings towards questionable countries that make him seem as the new found Che.

It totally amazes me that once the American bashing starts people completely abandon any pretext of common sense. The measure becomes not what positive social changes are occurring but how loud the shrill against the US. It’s a popular Canadian pastime. No one then asks about a Canadian government that has maintained the living level in many aboriginal communities at what the UN says are third world standards. Or that in Toronto the level of unemployment among young visible minorities is over 40%. Why bother about these concerns if one can hit the soapbox and yell at George W. Bush. Paul Martin was very good at it.

Perhaps your posit would carry more wieght if you included a list of these positive social changes, American bashing is a positive social change I recon, the more it occurs the more positive vibrations I feel.
While bashing Americans is a popular Canukistani pastime lets not forget the other four or five billion humans who also enjoy the sport, to hear you speak you would have us believe it's not the thing to do.

Chavez is a very popular leader and with good reason. He has brought hope to the downtrodded, medical care, schooling. It is wonderful that the people of Venezuela see beyond the virelant attacks on him by the fascist press.

I haven't seen a poll recently, but in October, his approval rating had slipped below 50%.

I don't understand the liberal left's enthusiastic
embrace of a ONE-MAN-SAVIOUR.

I thought the liberal left's core was all about NOT
trusting any one man.

Hugo Chavez is quite interesting. We're dealing
with him in our usual blunt ways --- both left and right
don't see the details of this guy.

given that washington -- i believe took the iniative in comparing hugo to hitler-- to compare bush to hitler-- is simply tit- for tat
and of course we all know that these forums are only loosely related to reality--so mouthing off is permitted

More revisonist crap from you, if we consider the tonnage of bombs and the thousands of dead Americans expended coupled to the millions of murdered leftys we can easily understand just how seriously the left has been taken. Mr Bush can be successfully compared to MR Hitler in his totalitarian asperations.

Darkbeaver learned a new word today, revisionism, which surprises me because the fringe left commonly uses it to spread lies and deceit. Anyway, comparing Bush to Hitler is exactly the reason why people tune you out. It's always about evil corporations being supported by the evil empire, your tune hasn't changed.

You can't tune the left out ITN without the left your direction would be without referance, the right only exists because of the left, DarkBeaver learns a new word everyday ITN, you are a great teacher, I wish I had you in a gage somewhere, someplace where I could poke you through the bars and make you instruct, I would learn everything you know and only release you when you were a spent and withered bag of dust.

the problem with comparing someone to hitler is that no matter who you target-- they can be a little like hitler-- we have to try and quantify it a little better-- make it a little more scientific

subject hitler rating

1- hitler 100%
2- mussolini 90%
3- franco 80%
4- suharto 70%
5- pinochet 60%
6- reagan 50%
7- thatcher 50 %
8- bush senior 40%
7- bush junior 60%
8- chavez 10%

as you can see ive done my research
clearly chavez is les like hitler than bush

"This is the century of the grave for US imperialism"

Hugo Chavez, the president of Venezuela
"The US empire is defeated in Iraq ... God help them if they try to attack Iran," Chavez said to applause at a public event later. "We ask for and want peace, but over there they would taste double the dust of defeat.

"I really believe the US empire is waiting for its grave. This is the century of the grave for US imperialism."

I think this statement is correct. American imperialism will be ended this century by some way. I have to agree with Chavez on this one.

Talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel having to pull out the Hitler card when all else fails. :angry7:

jesus you can't be sarcasic anymore without everyone from the left and the right going all over you. Anyhow Hugo is no more Che as Bush is Hitler if you couldn't pick that up from my last post! You know the one right above you
