I understand your resistance to regarding the whole and your preference for focusing on the specific. We can say that some disparities in the U.S. are reflective of policies made by government that influence one ethnic sub-group but to imagine that this is demonstrative of the wider vista of American politics and American identity is simply unacceptable...

We can suggest that the elections of 2001 didn't reflect the will of the people but how does one address inequality and imbalance from a position that clearly admits to willingness to accept manipulation at the highest levels of American politics...?

You believe that nothing is related to anything else and that's an opinion you're absolutely entititled to have, what seems short-sighted and selective vision to me may be the more critical analysis to you....

If we look at the specifics around the money taken by the Federal government and spent on an illegal and illegitimate war in Iraq, that money being taken out of the general pool doesn't make any difference...if you look at the specifics of the money spent to deal with the carnage of Katrina....well I believe it does. I believe that the manipulation of the American people by a corrupt government and a corporate sector way beyond the controls of law have direct impact on the lives of every American. When George Bush and Colin Powel committed lies of ommission while presenting their "intelligence" to the U.N. and the American people, those miscarriages of truth and honesty compromised much more than the locals around the beltway in Washington DC....but you seem quite happy to regard these little bumps along the way as isolated happenstance that either won't have or didn't have wider impact on the whole...

I suppose our world-views won't differ much and we'll have to agree to disagree....

As soon as Bush's puppet Karzai came into power, the drug trade flourished.

That's typical of radical right wingers: drugs, pornography, degeneracy, death squads, terrorism.

Aren't you lucky Bush did not invade Canada?;-)

The drug trade wasn't flourishing at some point? I don't think there ever was a problem with the drugs in Afghanistan mate. heh heh

As well there were all these things in place and growing long before Bushco arrived on the scene. As for Canada, Bush did invade. Well not the right words actually, while we refer to Bush by name, it's those people who work in his shadow that have been doing all the dirty deeds. Cheney if you will notice, never get anywhere near the blame for things. Though if you have a close look, his fingers are in everything that has been wrong with the US administration during these last two terms and I suggest even before during the Bush sr admin. Still little if any of the blame lands on his shoulders, while Bush who is clearly a puppet takes the heat. Don't you feel like this is a line you've been fed?

Attaching blame to the rest of the American people has some legitimacy. In that, the administration is representative of the people and with a method to remove a corrupt administration, mores the shame that it hasn't been employed to make the change.

During the years of the cult of personality, minds are clouded as to the truth of the matter not only in the US but world wide. So there must be some understanding, that I suggest, we Canadians can grasp especially well. Dirty buggers abound but then they always have.

The point is that the drug problem increased under Bush's puppet regime just as it did in Vietnam when the USA invaded. Everywhere the CIA spreads its tentacles of evil, the drug trade flourishes.
