You mean instead of sitting resources and riding a single industry, he actually invested in diversifying the economy?

People have been trying to diversify the economy for decades here. It's pretty hard to find workers for your widget factory when the patch is paying 100K+ to somebody with a grade 10 education. You will probably never understand this as its been explained many times before. The question is whether Rachel will get it before she wastes untold taxpayers dollars before the patch rebounds again.

That's not what the mainstream media is telling us.

Alberta = Oil

That's really the message.

How have they tried to diversify and failed?

From now on the CONServatives should pay for their own privately paid polling instead of relying on taxpayer paid polling......

Pre-election poll told Tories their tax cuts were popular

The taxpayer-funded poll, conducted for the federal finance department just weeks before the campaign began, gauged public sentiment about the strength of the economy.

It also specifically tested whether Canadians supported the key tax measures in the government’s recent budget — including the child care benefit, income splitting for couples with children, and an increase to the annual contribution limit for TFSA's.

The pollster also tested various proposals for reforming the Canada Pension Plan and it found the strongest support for an option — voluntary premium hikes for workers — that the Conservatives were floating as a trial balloon.

Milke: Alberta already tried to diversify the economy — and failed | Calgary Herald

Part of me is surprised there are still folks like you that are on the "diversification" kick but then, given your understanding of economics, I shouldn't be.

BTW...who is this "main stream media" that is telling you diversification hasn't been tried and that is sure to work if it is tried?

CPC has one major flaw which is the Reform wing of the party where the PMO controled the MP Conservatives with an iron fist. Get rid of the bobble head because nodding heads should be by choice not by force. The CPC has to remember that Canada is for Canadians.

That's funny given Trudeau's stance on allowing MPs to vote their conscience.

Are you suggesting that the government not poll the population to find out what programs are or are not popular?

No cows in Alberta apparently .

How do you like Alberta's clean green wind farms near Pincer Creek ?
Funny how oil and coal rich Alberta built the largest wind farms in Canada before the NDP came to power .
Those evil conservatives eh .

The centeralized control of the PM's office was started by the man whose picture you proudly use as an avatar .
Trudeau senior was the master control freak . But as on most issues liberals spin their adversaries actions as despicable all the while doing the exact same .

remember PM PM " don't tell me what's in the red book I wrote the damn thing "

The left loves telling others what to do. A true conservative wants the gubmint to leave us alone.
